PER Berman

Well so much for starting Amare

1st or 2nd rd exit now

Wont be surprised if Amare is listed as day to day for the rest of his Knicks career

30 minute limit, exceed it, and this is what you have.

It makes sense. There is a timeline for microfracture surgery, I believe 5 yrs after for playing. That was why the Suns didn't resign Amare. Amare was a tremendous player for the Suns. If Amare could train to get over his knee issue he would be fine. Too bad. The guy has tremendous heart.

I think he exceeded it by a total of like 3 minutes between the last 2 games.

I dont think its because he played 32 31 & 29mins. Slightly over the 30min restriction. His knees are just shot. Prob will get his mins reduced to 5-10 for the rest of his knicks career

4 games in 5 nights, capped off with games exceeding the limit.

That was too much for Amare, let alone haviong to battle Ibaka in the last game, and actually drew a charge.

Woodson needs to keep the guy fresh, stay on the bench, monitor the minutes, contribute at the same time preserve him.

Yeah. Its scary. I remember how dominant McGrady was in his first or one of his first games as a Knick and then the guy just broke down. Hopefully Amare bounces back but this definitely isn't good.

One game exceeding limit I think. Only vs Cleveland. He played 28:55 vs OKC. Probably more so the 4 games in 5 nights.

It might be smart to cap Amare's minutes and not allow him to play in back to backs similar to Bogut. Once the playoffs come the Knicks will have several days between games and that should benefit Amare.

Good idea. Playing on bacl to back nights even if under 25mins is not a good idea. Amare is running on borrowed time. Mins need to be limited completely

Damn it guns I warned you about this!
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Lol at those wanting Amare to start or play more minutes.

Dude hadn't even played all season and his knees are sore.

Go back to my posts. Never said play more than 25-30 mins. Just cos u start doesnt mean u need 40

Should limit him to 5-10. White and kts role. Start and get pulled. Comback late in the 4th

This is the crux of the situation and why Woody hss a hard job. Why didn't Amar'e play down the stretch or why take him out now. However, if Kenyon can get up to speed on offense it will help solve a lot of things. Start Kenyon and keep teams from getting hot early then bring in Amar'e off the bench like he has been doing.

Damn, looks like Woody and the medical staff were right keeping his minutes down to 20-23 per game. This month is brutal, we're not even past the half way mark and our two best players have already gone down.

This makes it all the more strange why no minutes for Cope! Even KMart got a DNP for some reason recently. Woody could easily find a way to limit STATS minutes or rest him a game when he needed to. I don't understand his resistance to using his bench forwards.

I think he keeps dogging it in practice- every time there's a clip on msg.com from the Mike Woodson show, he is telling Cope off for being lazy- here, scroll down to vids and click on show more until you see the "coach knows best one"- you'll see him getting told off right at the start:

Shame because we could really use his youth and scoring.

Reports are that Cope plays tonight. KMart's first game as a Knick really was OKC. He wasn't part of the rotation yet so I think that was why he sat. If Martin is back next year the Knicks might want to go every other game with Martin/Amare. Martin plays all out but also has had micro fracture surgery on both of his knees. These are guys that the Knicks will need in the spring so keeping them healthy will be paramount.
