Next year we need to fill in all spots with players that can score so Woodson doesnt have to think about it.

This will increasingly be the model that can take down a team like Miami. You cannot have a weak link at a position. That is why we should start JR Smith and Novak now. Too bad we have a middle aged player from the 80's who is the boss and cant think outside the box. Thats why we are down almost every game. He cant admiot mistake--or atleast does not want too--i.e Melo's injury. Well Mike--maybe you are wrong starting Shumpert and White?Copeland or Kidd!!!!! Kidd is a quality back up b ut our offensive 2-4 with Amare as 6th man is Novak and Smith.

The only way to beat miami is to draft the next Lebron or trade for him when he approaches lebron levels of greatness

At some point soon they should try this. I agree. Rotations shorten in the playoffs and everyone is going to log major minutes. I would think that the closer we get to the playoffs you'll see one of JR or Amar'e in the starting lineup.

Nope Amare is better as sixth man. JR is better with starting unit--look how fluid we played start of 2nd half. JR can do a lot of things he just needs to be red flagged on the three ball you can take 2 if you miss them thats it

Yeah, The Answer Man Gets Angry Too

So that Woodson does not need to think about it?

Really?

Is the implication that Mike Woodson is not intelligent enough to deploy his available talent to suit your superior analytical skills?

The not-so-veiled references are staggering.

Mike Woodson is too dumb to put the best players in the court or maximize their skill sets?

Sheesh.

don't think so.. i wouldn't even be surprised if the pacers took down the heat this year. it has nothing to do with having a player like lebron, it has to do with playing a physical game that the heat don't like. between that and actually having some guards who can spread the floor and score, you beat the heat. this isn't like playing jordan here.

And 1 to what you said.

Why are most solutions from fans centered around adding offense to a team that scores the ball relatively well? This was the case even when D'AnToni was here. We just don't have balanced scoring it's loaded. What we need are players who play both sides of the ball equally well. Players like the Pacers, Grizzlies, Clippers, Bulls, Nuggets, and the Rockets have or heck even the Blazers.

We have "PLAYER EXTREMES" that's my new phrase now

this is what I was saying a couple of years ago.. Instead of trying to fight fire with fire... you have to find another way.. Miami got the best gun around, so instead of getting a lesser gun and try to beat him in a gun fight, you go out and find other ways to win that fight without trying to outgun the biggest gun... that way to me was getting the best, most complete team you can get. Deep with talent, well coached, well balanced on both sides of the ball... this is what teams like the bulls and moreso the pacers have done...

Heat are not all that..

We are built to beat them, and I definitley feel like the 90's playoff battles with the Heat and Indy are about to back..

exactly.... as I said, instead of trying to find that one player that is better than lebron, just be the Better TEAM.... do that, and you beat the heat... simple and plain... Jordan could not beat the pistons until He got a Better team.. he was always Jordan, even when losing, he was always the best in the NBA even when losing.. but when he got a more complete team, and allowed those guys to shine... He became unbeatable..

its really become a team of spare parts. Sometimes its ISO. Sometimes its ball movement. Sometimes its feed the post. Sometimes its clamp down defense. Sometimes its no defense. Sometimes its shoot the 3.

However none of this matters. All that matters is the Knicks are in what place? Oh yea... first. So when you Nancys can take a break from your eternal crying about Gallo or Lin and look at the standings you will see all that matters.

On a side note, you know what trade really sucked? Spree for Van Horn. We traded mr electricity for mr vagina. All downhill since.

Then that spiraled into KVH for Tim Thomas after KVH was playing relatively well but MeloBury wasn't having that and said KVH got to go

for next yr, there are a lot of needs

1. this team has to try to get YOUNGER depth
- waive cope, white, kurt, sheed, kmart and prigs to get younger talent as role players
- examples (cheap players) = AJ Price and Dante Cunningham

2. ive never thought it was about the starting lineup...its all about how you FINISH games
- JR will be there in the clutch situations

3. starting line up

PG - Felton
SG - Shump
SF - Melo
PF - Amare
C - Tyson

4. Bench

PG - (AJ Price)/Kidd
SG - JR Smith
SF - Novak
PF- (Cunningham)/ (draft pick)
C - Camby/(draft pick)

5. incorporate some ZONE into the defense since several of our players (STAT, Novak) CANT play man

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Knicks are too lazy to look at young players. They prefer the vin baker/jerome james of the world

This is a PG heavy draft. I think at 23 or 24 we can be lucky enough to pick a highly talented player for both the short and long term. PG is a highly valuable position. We have not drafted a PG since Charlie Ward. I've mocked to 24 many times--we'll have a real talent at PG sitting there one way or another--to many options. Prigioni is gone and Kidd is in his final hours. Also Felton is just a fair player.I think for where we are--we would use an NBA 4 to replace the crap we have(other than Amare)
