So the 6'7 vs. 6'8 thing can be settled, and collective knowledge increased... and other arguments can be squashed; When the NBA does its combine, they measure a player with and w/o sneakers on. An official players height is listed with sneakers on. So, Sweetney is really 6'7, but listed at 6'8... as is done with ALL NBA players. Allan Houston is 6'5 without his sneakers. Charles Oakly is 6'8 without his sneakers, etc...The media sometimes gets this confused. So officially Sweetney is 6'8. This is consistent with all heights in the NBA, and as they have been currently and historically known. FYI.

That's pretty interesting. I kinda thought it the teams listed the heights and weights of players, and therefore had some room for creative embellishment.

Now that I think about it, that sort of thing wouldn't make any sense anyway. It's not like these teams/players are that unfamiliar with eachother that adding an inch on paper would change a game plan.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

I never understood why 1 inch made such a big difference. It's much more abour wingspan and jumping abilyt. Mourning was 6 10 as opposed to 6 11 which would make a perfect as opposed to a prototypical center. Seems very silly to me. Barkley was like 6 5 lol. Nobody ever said he was to sall to play PF. LJ, Brand? Its not about being undersized its about being fat and undertalanted with some of the bums we have had at PF (read Spoon, OH, etc) and NOT Sweetney who can actully mump, has a 7+ wingspan and can play.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

to my knowledge there's only one player that leaves question about height. kg. they say he's taller than what he's listed at.
and ofcourse there's question about our very own dikembe motumbo's age. good luck decifering that.

right. you made the right point about height vs talent. Same could be said with pure athletism vs talent too.
