I now believe that we got a little lucky at the begining of the season. We now only have one real shooter and thats Melo. We will be fighting for our lives every game we play. When we play the worst team in the league we will be fighting for our lives. Thats the way this team is.
Face it Amare is never gonna play defense and neither is anyone else with the exception of Chandler and he can't shoot Shump and he can't shoot , Felton is always guarding bigger men with that sorry defensive switch game plan that don't work and don't fit.
Hey I'm still a die hard Knicks fan but won't expect much. If we win 40% of the rest of our games it will be a win for me. even 30% win for the rest of the season just might work.

My interest is actually starting to wane.

Kinda glad we lost so Woodson has no choice but to shake up that pathetic starting 5. No way he possibly goes to the same starting 5 on Sunday

Yeah, I'm starting to feel just having Stoudemire around is killing us as a team. Our players were once so confident early on. Not anymore. It's like Amar'e fits out of place with not just Melo, but everyone. Gets the ball down low, and that's that... And I don't think we can save his defense. No college learning. Plays High School defense...

Hoping this happens and that it has a positive impact on the team and Kidd. Kidd is still really crafty but his shot is gone and so is his lift.

Hey you leave Amar'e out of thi, that's the next escape goat for you to deny the truth?

Amar'e terrific teammate all the time, never had a question about his good standing as a teammate,

it's the other guy that brought a bad reputation or at least lukewarm or cold feelings from his last team

Amare is making 20 million and playing rather pedestrian.

Rest him the rest of the season incase something happens to Felton or Prigioni At least he will have fresh legs

I don't think he will shake things up. Woodson is a good coach but he might be a bit to stubborn. Right now you know that James White and Copeland are better than Shumpert yet Shumpert is getting a lot of run. It doesnt take genius to know that he is ways away from contributing anything to the team. Amare needs to start, Melo needs to go back to Sf, White needs to start at sg. Copeland needs to back up Melo and Amare. Kidd need 10-15 minutes as Felton's backup.

These are simple moves and winning moves. I understand what Woody is trying to do, he wants to preserve the old for the playoffs. Fact is the Knicks need to go young and that doesn't mean Shumpert he is at this point not ready to contribute. White and Copeland can really help this team and Woody doesn't see this.

Kareem lasted a long time in the game... and I doubt he was a party drinker like my man J-Kidd. Dude was doing yoga and Jeet Kun Do whilst puffing ganja. And he retired at 42. Kidd is 39. His wheels were gonna fall off eventually.

If Amare starts you really don't need anything offensively from Shumpert. Just defense. You just need good play from Felton

I agree. I am not sure about Kidd as Felton's back up. I like Prigs a lot in that role. However, if Kidd can't hit his shot he shouldn't be on the floor much with Prigs as the guy just wants to pass.

Prigs played great tonight and never saw the floor in the 2nd half

Kidd needs to be shutdown completely. He is insurance. Felton and Prigs are the PGs

You need something offensively from all positions. Shumpert is getting to much of a free pass from the folks on the forum. He just isn't ready to contribute, people need to be wise to this.

Shump's shot will come. He has good form but no legs. And he looks really slow going to the rim. Did a great job defensively tonight tho

When he gets a head of steam going he's pretty fast running the floor. Its when he's in a half court set and has to push off that bad knee of his that he seems to have trouble keeping up, especially laterally.

Man, this thread is just pathetic. Now everyone's pointing fingers and analyzing this the way others have already said at the beginning but got scolded. Look, always keep a positive spin to this. Whether it is need more pick and roll for Amar'e and Tyson, or more defense, or fire coach, or in my case, force new owner. You can't just say let's not expect much from this team and we all will feel better. There's no feeling better in losing, none whatsoever. Admitting defeat will get you nowhere in life. Be a sour grape, but be a smart sour grape and make things better according to situation. Amar'e money was wasted, and Melo was overpriced but did his job. What we need is more intensity on defense and draw more fouls. We can score, that's not a problem, but we need to make other team feel exhausted going into the second half. The few games I watched lately all made me think the other team was refreshed in second half and we were the ones that gave up on hustling sometimes. Yet, we need to stay positive and start thinking what the coach could've done better, and what is wrong with certain players that need improvement. We got a decent team, just not a championship caliber team yet.

Dare him.

He will talk about a new lineup and then start the same sorry one.

Just like the players will talk about pride, contending and winning, they keep playing like slakers and pretenders.

In the end, to me, we've never been a perfect team, but our defense helped us move forward. Now our players just don't fancy defense.

Yet they still fancy talking about their greatness.

Figures.

This team just doesn't play with the same energy when he's on the team. It's not necessarily his fault but its the truth.
