(The dubwise bootleg tapes)

In the immortal words of that renown cultural scholar and verbose broadcaster, Bill Walton, "Throw it down big man, throw it DOWN!"

The Knicks emphasis must, and will, change from a perimeter-heavy offens - to a bullish half court offense that pounds the rock into the paint and makes the extra pass.

Oor big men must protect this house.

Lets get it on.

I loved what Buck Williams and Terry Cummings brought to the team coming off the bench. Hoping that Martin, Thomas and some combo of Sheed and Camby can do that for this group.

Agreed

Move Melo to the 3
less jumpshots
less iso
more set plays from the coach
more effort on both ends
more of Felton setting up Amare not Amare forcing the issue in iso
more drive and kick for OPEN jumpshots
better screens from Tyson and Amare
better composure
less Kidd
take more charges
shorten JR's leash
more blocks
more rebounds
better defensive rotations
better perimeter defense
more hard fouls
no more layups

yea thats why I love having Grunwald, H20, LJ & Starks in the front office. I'd bet anything these guys went to Grunwald and Dolan and said we need to bring back New York Knicks basketball. Buck Williams and Terry Cummings were tough mofos. Unfortunately our stars aren't as tough as our 90s stars

At the rate we are going those two don't seem so old on our roster!

As other teams have adjusted to us, as noted by Grunwald, things must change. The playing personality must be reset for half court ball and the suddenness of back to back games.

Personally, Kenyon Martin is just a 10 day insurance policy of both Sheed and Camby shut it down.

Whatever he has been doing in his spare time, hopefully the reality of his career being measured in minutes, not months or years, will keep him inspired.

March is when sh#t gets real.

If you already know the outcome, why waste your time following the games?

The month is February and there are 31 games to play.

Let it play.

I'm not worried like most fans.

Here's what I'm looking for: make the playoffs (nearly guaranteed even if we lost the next 20 games!), finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference standings (to avoid Miami until the eastern conference finals), and make sure our old role players and starters are close to 100% in the weeks leading to the playoffs (Kidd, Wallace, Camby, Felton).

Not going to stress about losses here or there.

I agree this roster must approach games different than other teams because of their age.

Younger players must be taught by old heads how to stay focus.

When the 2nd season rolls around and Melo starts playing the right way, this team of battled tested vets will be dangerous.

I don't think the beginning of the season was a fluke.

WE SHALL SEE !

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

What's more important for a veteran team built for the playoffs (not the regular season) is to try and get healthy and regain some of that passion we've seen defensively in the short time when Sheed and Camby were part of the rotation. K-Mart should help in this area. In these last few months the Knicks have shown glimpses of shutting down teams with defense in a couple of games but it hasn't been there consistently like it was.

Playing bigger wont help this team. They need to be faster defensively to rotate, thats been the bigger problem. Switches killed us tonight. That was one of my biggest beefs going w woody. He likes MDA's ****ty philosophy. Chandler on Lowry on that floater at the end? Never shouldve happened. This team plays when it feels like it. Im just hoping that they arent gonna coast for too long. Melo's shot hasnt been falling like it was earier in the year and threfore he draws less doubles, less ball movewment, less open shots. They cant fall back on offense and go .500 the rest of the way. If they get it together, they can still break 50 wins and be a semi decent contender(at least in the east)

Playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs?

This team was destined for bigger things than a simple playoff berth. Now they'll be lucky to win a round. That's pathetic.

Nice callback to your old thread, though. The one where you predicted playoffs before the inevitable 23-win Isiah season. Good times. At least your sense of humor is still in tact.

The way we are playing now, we will be lucky to get passed the first round (as many have said).

I haven't lost all hope and it is just a game to me. But, there isn't that magic here anymore. Maybe I just liked the team with Lin, as the atmosphere present then was special. Right now we are a bunch of older guys, playing like crap (both on offense and defense) and talking about a championship

Luckily, we do have time to right the ship. If we don't right the ship though, oh boy - what a long season and then offseason it will be. And if the boards thought the negativity was high now, after selling our future in the Melo trade, then getting rid of Lin, I think the worst would be yet to come. At that time, I'll just be hoping for Dolan to be gone and looking forward to a rebuild while watching the other teams we helped to create, play in the playoffs.

I am worried.

It was never about just making the playoffs, especially with the way they started. No, they have made the playoffs the last two years so that isn't an accomplishment, especially with their first half record.

Nah, it was about the way they looked, like a team that could really beat the Heat, a team that could contend for a championship.

But this isn't a bad stretch, this is a stretch every contender goes through where they are challenged to prove they have what it takes to win and can adjust to teams and still win.

After almost 30 games, sadly we are missing badly. Is it that age has caught up to us? That we were just heavily overrated? Did we just get complacent and can't get out of the funk? Has Woody lost the team and everyone's respect as a coach that has no clue how to adjust?

I'm not sure but its been a while we have looked bad playing basketball and there comes a point where even the most positive fan has to realize his team is playing like crap and no change seems to be on its way.

I am worried. For the first time in forever, we looked like a team that could finally make us champions, but that team is long gone and they can't seem to get their ac5 together to win again.

Lots of people forget that the majority of the teams make the playoffs. Granted, it's easy to forget that when Dolan runs your team.
