I wish we could somehow get JORTS back... that kid had decent range and played like a roughneck

To many teams biting at the bit for Jorts for him to comeback to Ny.

Very smart move by Grunwald. Isiah would never have had the foresight. Instead of just waiving a player for nothing now we got a 2nd rd pick. Also does Brewer a favor. Maybe he has a small role in OKC and gets paid

Would've been nice if we could've dumped white in there and added Maynor. Maybe Johnny Flynn or Kenyon Martin are possibilities.

I still believe the Thunder will feature Brewer on Lebron if they meet again.
Brewer is a big body that is mobile enough to obstruct Lebron's orchestrations on offense.

I still feel we need young feisty point guard so we can rest Kidd for the next month or so.
JR Smith should start to give a jolt of urgency to the first unit.
I would not mind Kmart if we have to give up nothing for him. He brings toughness, and even this team is getting plowed by teams that play physical and methodical.

I don't really like it without knowing who we're replacing him with. It's clear to me that Brewer was the only guy we have who plays defense at the 3. Shumpert isn't a 3 and is struggling. Brewer was part of the lineup when we had a lot of success.

I guess I'll wait and see what we're getting, but eh... I would've rather dumped Copeland or White.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I really do not get the team's love affair with James White.

Copland can hurt opposing defenses, and he has a knack for a bit of shot blocking.

That works better in OKC where they have such an explosive offense. The Knicks needed him to hit his shot like he was in November. He seemed like he had lost all of his confidence recently.

I hope we start Copland at small forward, that kid will punish anyone that leaves him open.

And his defense is of the swiss cheese style. Not that Novak is much better.

Lee Nailon part 2.

Every time we get a player named Brewer, they never last here.

The Brewer curse continues...

Re. Copland: Kid still blocks shots.

If u install JR to start, he and Felton can close off penetration in tandem.
That allows the players in the back court to be more solid and block shots.

I agree...but I see what Woodson is thinking. Copeland and White (especially White) are solid SF's that defense can not leave open. Plus they have average defense with a solid frame to guard most SF's in the NBA.

Copeland gets in trouble against smaller guards, due to his lack of foot speed, but he's a better shooter. White has quicker foot speed, but not the size of copeland to guard the bigger SF's.

Both can shoot and both will get more playing time against certain matchups.

I just hate seeing two PG's and a SG playing SF (Shump and JR Smith)

That experiment needs to end. I rather see Copeland or White at SF.....

Felton
Shump / Kidd
Copeland or White
Melo
Chandler

Pablo or Kidd
Smith or Kidd
Copeland or White or Shump
Stat or Kurt
Rasheed / Camby / Kurt / Oneil

Brewer was our best SF defender, but he wasn't a lockdown SF. Maybe as a SG, but thats either Kidd or Shump's position. Brewer wasn't being used and he was preventing us from adding a Big....Plus, he's not a SF, he's better at defending SG's. As a SF, his defense is just as good as White or sometimes Copeland.

With Brewer on the floor, teams were only guarding 4 players.

Copeland looked great on offense last night. The Knicks need guys that can score. Cope can hit the three, create his own shot and that sweet pick and roll play with Prigs was on display again last night.

Exactly. White or Kurt would've been better but OKC not interested in those guys. I will take the 2nd round pick

I have to believe there is a sg out there that has to be better than what we have. Jason Kidd is shot. Right now we might as well start White and just leave him in there for 5 games to see if he can do it.
