Not happening
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Look around the league and you'll see tons of stupid transactions.

Atlanta is looking to attract talent. A'mare is a star attraction with his ability to sound like an action hero. Even though they trade expirings, they pick up a proven 20pt scorer...they could trade outgrew players, like Louis Williams and that Kidd that used to be on the nets.....

Quite possible and both teams stay Competitive

Is Amare a good fit next to Horford?

Cuz he is the cornerstone of their franchise.

Amare has 2 years remaining after this season. Deal is easier to swallow now. He still has fans.

I don't think it is as crazy as it sounds. Atlanta wouldn't want to lose Josh Smith for nothing. I do worry about the Knicks being able to score if they made a trade like this. Things look so much more fluid with Amar'e in the roation.

The knicks offense had been dead the last month and the defense has been horrible.....josh would allow the knicks to play a legit starting line up......

Amare off the bench is fine but what are we paying him to do? Knicks need to build around melo. I think josh is perfect next to melo cuz neither needs to be in certain situatiobs to score. A'mare duress and teams shut him down. At least the good ones leaving melo to be superman.

Someone said it already. Amare has fans....his contact is only 2 more tears not 5. Its easier to swallow.

Hortford becomes the 4 and amare goes back to the 5 where hes been his most effective. They would have Teague and shump with lou Williams next year. Pretty good

Not going to happen; Atlanta has said they don't want to take long-term salary back in return.

I happen to believe Amar'e is tradeable. Hell, we traded Antonio McDyess before, and he was a lot worse off production-wise than Amar'e is right now. But, it needs to be the right buyer. We'll see.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The only way we could trade Amare is if we had multiple first round picks to get rid of or took back an even worse contract not sure if that exists

No. He was traded in the Marbury deal. Granted, we took Penny Hardaway back.

Yes. But point is that the idea that Amar'e isn't tradeable is false. We can trade him for 50 cents on the dollar and get 1-2 guys who also are overpaid but might fit better into the rotation.

Personally, I think Amar'e needs to start next to Melo at this point. The glory of the Melo at PF argument fails to acknowledge that we get destroyed on the boards when Melo is playing PF because Melo only grabs 6.5 boards a game and the guys we put at SF rebound poorly for that position.

A'mare is a horrible rebounder and defender as well. A'mare needs the ball in the same spots as Chandler and melo. That's why he's on the bench. Josh solidifies the defense and presents match up problems for miami. Indians and the bulls will be a better match up for us cuz we can put a potent starting line up with vets like shed and Camby of the bench....

I think the trade is good for us. Devin Harris or Anthony Morrow would be nice thrower inns too

I disagree. Melo usually gets the ball 18ft from the basket in a post stance then he turns around and tries to drive or shoot over the defender depending on how he is played.

Amare gets the ball on the low block not 18ft out like last year only to go iso.

Tyson never gets the ball outside of the lob

In other words Dantoni really screwed the 3 of them up last year by starting the offense 18-23ft out with both Melo and Amare.

The 3 of them have been fine offensively dating back to 18-6 last year under Woodson. Problem is defensively. Thats why Sheed, Camby and a healthy Shumpert will be key down the stretch

McDyess was an expiring contract when we traded him so it's not the same situation for another season and a half.

Its sad that we were hooking PHX up with a big expiring contract for Marbury and they still go Isiah to take on Penny's $15mil per in salary. Only Dolan and the Knicks

It is so Knicks to do that and why I will never trust this team when making trades

Eddy Curry for Noah and Alridge anyone???

only rumor that makes sense for us: josh and Devin Harris for A'mare and Shump
