per Hoopshype via Chris Broussard Sources....J.O. another washed up old BUMOLA...

Oh well at least he'll fit right in and of course we'll have playing time for him because Camby/Sheed/Kurt and the rest of the guys all practiced today, energized for CONTENTION push....

O'Neal has been decent this season and actually has been playing pretty well recently with increased playing time.

If all it takes is James White or Copeland then you gotta do it.

I'd rather just pick up Kenyon Martin as a free agent, who's only one year older than O'Neal, without having to give up anything of value during a trade.

Kurt Thomas.
Kenyon Martin.
Rasheed Wallace.
Marcus Camby.

And let them battle it out.

We'd have to drop someone anyway to pick up Martin. And Oneal has been solid this year. Martin hasn't played. I'd give anyone at the bottom of the roster for him.

So this isn't the case of "playing well on a bad team" or this gets overlooked because we have interest in him? He's well past 30 with bad knees, what is the point of trying to acquire him but hold on to someone like Shumpert at all cost if we're in WIN NOW MODE?

You make a good point. I myself would drop White or Copeland for O'Neal. But, why would PHX gift wrap the Knicks O'Neal for pretty much nothing? I'm pretty sure PHX doesn't see anything in either of White/Copeland...

What if we pull the trigger on Dudley/O'neal for Shump/Kurt Thomas deal?

I'd be OK w/ it as long as Shump is nowhere near the deal.

Tyson needs help, plain and simple. Whether it's KMart, Amundson or JO, they need someone because Sheed and Camby are unreliable at this point. JO has looked healthy and has been playing well and we'd likely give up very little.

What is the problem?

O'neal for Copeland would be the deal for me. Save Phx from buying O'neal out.

Yeah, I can appreciate that O'Neal is having a decent stretch of play now, but his track record the past couple of seasons says this won't last and he'l be on the IR soon. Can't see myself giving up a young piece for someone who's likely tweak his hamstrung walking during a cold day in New York. At least with Martin, who showed he can still play last season, there's little risk.

Cope is not young and sits the bench. They might as well try to get DOnte Greene and cut White to replace Cope.

My bad, I meant Shump, not Cope.

Myself personally, have been calling for Kenyon Martin since last offseason before he joined with the Clippers.

He ended up averaging 22.4 minutes, 5.2 points, 4.3 boards, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steal per game with LAC last season. A field goal percentahge of .441%. Only 0.8 turnovers per game.

Anyone can look decent with youtube highlights, but anyone that knows anything about Kenyon Martin understands that there are four guarantees with Kenyon Martin. 1.) He's going to play hard each and every game. 2.) He's going to play with toughness down low. 3.) He's going to give you minutes. 4.) He's high-energy off the bench.

Jneal would be perfect to pair up with Tyson because he rebounds and blocks shots and can score in the post without being the black hole that Amare is.

Amare and his $100mil can stay on the bench

Question is do you trade Shump for him

Hi youtubes are better than O'neal!

Got to be a reson nobody wants him. Especially JR and Melo who have history with him.

Rumors of PHX trading Gortat. If so, they might need O'neal still.

why would we need to trade Shump for O'neal? Give them folks Copeland and be done with it.

No to Dudley, just no.
