I think some forget how bad our backcourt has been through this up and down stretch.

Felton - pulling his usual start the season hot then fade by all star break

Kidd - just looks old out there

Smith - giveth and taketh

Shumpert - still recovering from a season ending injury.

I have never been a Felton fan he plays hard but his shooting is abysmal. Kidd has basically been driven to the ground by Woody he should have given him time off as soon as Felton came back. Shumpert next year. Smith hit or miss player that can't be trusted on for consistency. If you combine their shooting they are shooting a putrid 39%. Forget about defense none of them are very good Smith is good for a steal here and there but his defense is nothing to harp on.

Felton has been playing well since coming back from injury, the only bad thing is that his turnovers are creeping back up. Other than that, I'm happy with how he has been playing, especially since he gets a lot of assists considering 2/3's of Knicks possessions are Amar'e/ Melo Iso's. One myth is that his defense has really regressed. That's total BS IMO. He barely gets to guard the ballhandlers because of all the switches this team does. Guards also destroy this team on PnR's due to a crappy PnR defense scheme and in transition.

JR has always been like this. His defense has been very bad though. Crawford, Ridnour, and Alan freaking Anderson have torched him onball and offball.

Kidd needs rest. Can't ask for much from a 40yr old though.

Shumpert has a perfectly valid excuse. It took Rubio 20 games to recover from his ACL.

Ready to say "Knicks should have re-signed Lin"?

And really there's very little chance that it will improve. At this point in their careers Felton and JR are what they are and Kidd isn't going to suddenly get younger. Our only hope is that Shumpert makes a leap at some point but, as much as I like him, I don't see him ever becoming more than a good role player with a limited offensive game.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

That's why I'd rather either
A) trade him for someone who can help more this year or
B) keep him for now and do a complete rebuilding of the roster

B obviously isn't going to happen though.

Ray has been playing well despite all the bs spewed by certain ones here. No one can say he played bad last game or even against the Clippers. This just seems like a way to bring up lin which is ridiculous.
