Dang. State of the Knicks looks grim. This team is taking a pounding from "Father Time" and "The Injury Bug". Now The Knicks have 4 tough games left in February then that murderous March and April schedule is upon us. Double Dang.

Grunny needs to make a move, but with limited resources what the heck is going to do?

I still think he needs a backup young tall PF/C in the 6'10"+ range.
I also think he needs a backup PG.
This team right now will be run out of the gym every night.

Like what another poster said in another thread...You shutdown Melo and guard the 3pt specialists and you stop the Knicks. Then just run, run, run.

I just skimmed through the schedule but it looks like about 60 to 65% of the remaining games are against above .500 teams.

Plus...
-6 back-to-back games in March.
-2 weeks with 5 games in 7 nights in March
-3 back-to-back games in April
- April only has 1 game rest max in between games and back-to-back games
- 10 away games for March
- 6 away games for April

Health and Old age are going to be tough.

Most people would have said Toronto at home is a sure win

There are no sure wins especially the way this team is playing

I chronicled our schedule about a week ago.....and I repeat

What we want is to avoid the 1 seed or 4-5 seed...If we don't it's curtains for this team.
Likely hood of what could take place...

Here's how I see things ending up

Miami
Pacers
Bulls
Knicks
Boston
Brooklyn
Sixers
Bucks

The reason I say this because we have to play the Pacers 2 more times, Boston 2 more times, Miami 2 more times, Hawks 2 more times, Golden State 2 times, Clippers 2 times, OKC 2 times, Utah 2 times, Cleveland 2 times, Denver, Philly, Memphis, Portland...

I see too many losses here because the majority are road games. Gotta hope we end up a 2-3 seed and for Bulls/Pacers/Boston/Brooklyn cancel each other in the first round somehow...

I actually see the Celtics over taking the Knicks.

The age of this team is very concerning. Giving kidd and camby 3 year deals was stupid.

Camby has a non guaranteed 3rd year. His contract turn into an expiring contract next year.

He'll be on the other side of 40 by trade deadline time and any team that would trade for him essentially saves nothing as the prorate will be present. Not in case we dump him summer prior to. He will receive approximately $1.5-1.9mil guaranteed of $4.1 last year. He probably would have to be traded at a certain point before the last year becomes fully guaranteed, so what I started out saying possibly is striked....nevertheless

Ask yourself when is the last time we traded an expiring contract and got back any value worthwhile.... in particular seeing what we could get back at this juncture with Camby that does anything remotely appreciable in changing our overall team outlook going forward.

why didn't you guys just match on lin?

you may not like him but he was still an asset. yet you just let him walk away for nothing.

now you're left with 1 tradeable piece in shumpert and he's not gonna yield anything but a backup quality player.

tough times coming indeed.

Dolan took a gamble and sure as hell he lost all his chips.
I think it is fair in general. Not fair for Knicks fans... but who cares about them.
I do not have any sympathies to a bunch of fans who endorse Melo-hero bbal filled with arrogance, excuses, and drama.

What Lin???... he was here by some twisted mistake. Dolan corrected this aberration promptly and effectively without looking (and getting anything) back.
In Melo we trust!!!

What Knick fans are you talking to that actually want constant Melo isos?

DJ, we did beat this to death last summer-fall! the 18-5 start excorcised most longing for Lin. His slow start this season also made it less painful. Felton "came home" and has played well also helped.
