Which is why I respect Carmelo. Too much pride and respect for the game of basketball to flop his way in order to win close games. Too much heart and soul. But with all that said, we all knew LeBron was a different phenom coming out of high school. He's always been built like a man amongst boys. He's been born (blessed) with the body that's built to be an elite athlete. Do I think he's on steroids? If he has been, he must've been on them since middle school. Do you play with action figures?
You do realize you take every thread, every subject and relate it to Melo or the knicks? Did you watch the "State of the union" speach last nite and think "Obama is good, but I respect Melo because he wanted to be in NY, Obama should move the white house to NYC!" or, "what did Obama win at Harvard? Melo won a chip in college!". Inside of ten years they will build a presidential library to honor Obama as they have other presidents. "Melo got a gym named after him, what took Obama so long to get a library?" . |

You realize all these threads and takes are on a Knicks fan site, right? Would it concern you if NYKMentality was constantly relating everything to PJ Carlissimo? NYKMentality: Melo is the greatest. Always. Forever and ever, Amen. |

I think he is one of the few players that could have played in any era and still be good.. him, duncan, nash, etc.. Im embarassed by my post count actually. Its too high. Great make believe NetSpeak but its more relevant to beginning of season when I was talking about the Nets. All I said about Bropez was he deserves respect. This was while some homers were blastin him for sucking and being overpaid. As for DR J, I won't apologize my fandom as an 12 year old when he was a Net. My only memorabilia is a 1978 walt frazier card with him in a Cav's jersey. To remind me that change is enevitable and we can all be replaced. Walt is my no. 1 sports hero as a kid. As for our friend who is all things melo, he mentioned he is married with a child. |

I've never once stated Melo's a greater talent when compared to LeBron. Ever. But I've never felt LeBron was a stronger leader. Melo was drafted into a nightmare of a western conference while LeBron was gift wrapped a laughing stock joke of the East. When LeBron went up against western Conference teams? Swept by San Antonio and lost to Dirk and the Mavs during the Finals. That was Melo's life throughout his entire career. Pretty sure LeBron would've seen lots of first round exits up against the Lakers x2 and Spurs x2 and Melo against Minny during his rookie season? LeBron nor Melo had a chance. LeBron finally eliminated a Western Conference team for the ring, alongside a proven championship player in Wade and Bosh. I believe what Melo did for Denver in the West was more impressive than what LeBron did for the Cavs in the East. Elite teams on a nightly basis is what Melo went up against. Both were drafted by awful franchises at the time. I believe Melo's a league MVP here in 2012-2013. So are LeBron and Durant. So is Cp3 and Parker. Outside of Parker all helped lead the way for Unites States. All league MVP's in my eyes. If Melo finishes ahead of Durant and behind LeBron for the MVP award and/or behind both? Still doesn't change the fact we have one of the greatest basketball talents in the world leading our Knicks during his first full season with an entire offseason, training camp and preseason for the first time as a Knick. Melo could finish behind LeBron and Durant for MVP? That's like Ewing finishing behind Jordan and Hakeem and I'm loving it. |

So your actually blaming the "conference" on the disparity? Lebron put the cavs franchise on his back. If Lebron was on the Nuggs, I think they'd have a chip. Lebron is that good. Its not a slight on Melo. Lebron is on another planet than any other player. I still don' think most fans really comprehend what he did in the finals last season. |
