That team is a disaster. A while ago I thought maybe they'll be like we were in 1999, where we just made the playoffs by 1 game and went on a tear. But then Dwight got his shoulder injury, got in a feud with Kobe, Gasol got injured, Jordan Hill go injured, etc.

D'Antoni is the worst coach when it comes with dealing with ego's and inter player conflict- he just thinks players should be professionals, and if they're not it's not his job to do anything about it other than throw them under a bus.

well, if they are left with a choice between the two, i would guess they would keep howard. he is young and he can be dominant. he is a diva, the biggest in the league right now which is saying a lot. there is also questions about his commitment but he went to the finals on a team that had no business sniffing the finals. you can build a championship team around him. kobe is declining though he is having a great season this year. it would be hard but the weening away from kobe bean should start now.

I'd get rid of Howard, he just has the worst attitude- do you honestly see him winning a championship as the main man on your team? I would struggle to root for any team with Dwight Howard on it- more than TKF does any team with Melo.

Whatever the Lakers do, it's going to take years to build another championship level team.

Kobe has a no trade clause.

I would do a cart wheel if Kobe forced his way to NY to play with Melo.

Melo and Kobe on the same team would match as well as Steve Francis and Marbury.

By the way, I wonder if there are any youtube videos of that historic Knick backcourt pairing- I can't even remember what it looked like, must have purged all memories from my mind...

It will be interesting to see if they send him to NJ or Dallas before the deadline. If I am Dallas I would do it and tank the season. If I am NJ I stay away.

I'm also curious to see what the Lakers do. I didn't realise that if Dwight isn't traded to the Nets before the deadline, then he can't really be traded there at all, as teams over the luxury tax + $4mil (which the Nets will be) can't do sign and trades under the new CBA.
