Who do you want? Assuming we don't drop out of the first 4 slots. Ideally you want the 1 or 2 seed to avoid Miami, Chicago & Indy in the 2nd round.
Milwaukee
Atlanta
Brooklyn
Celtics

I went with the Bucks

We've been very good vs the Bucks under Woodson and teams with perimeter chucking PGs

Knocking off Brooklyn in the 1st Rd would be nice too not allowing them to garner a false sense of accomplishment. Knicks vs Brooklyn 2nd round would be great too

Philly is a long shot to make the playoffs this year not knowing when Bynum will be back and how effective he will be. Also going to take time to build chemistry. They will be dangerous next year. Probably move past the Nyets

I think its a bad sign if we are looking to avoid teams. Teams should be looking to avoid us. That being said, I would want Milwaukee in the first round.

I agree but it is the reason we are shooting for a top 2 seed. Building some momentum heading into a series vs the heat, bulls or indy might help instead of another 1st Rd sweep

Celtics!

If we lose to celts in first round we were not going anywhere anyway.

But if we can beat them, its small dent in their history but a sweet win for us!

We need it!

And if we get the Celtics in the 1st Rd it could very well be another disappointing 1st Rd exit for the Knicks. At best they push us to 6-7 games and we are spent going into the 2nd Rd

gotta hope for milwaukee they are true first round fodder

nice if we could face atlanta or the nets in the second round.

does anyone know if this scenario is possible?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Knicks-Brooklyn is very possible. 2 seed vs 7 seed. Brooklyn is clear cut 1st round knock out. They struggle against every current playoff team especially the Bucks. Maybe they squeak by Atlanta. Brooklyn might actually want the Knicks. Although they never beat us at full strength

Bucks if we get the 1 seed, can't see them getting 7.

Nets in the second, I doubt Atlanta makes it out the first.

If were full strength, playing D and hitting the 3 ball, couldn't care less, we cant be beat.

The only thing that will keep this team from winning it all, his health

All I want is a Knicks Nets series, whether it's first round or third round, it's good for me,

but no better way to start the Melo Championship Era than with a good spanking of our rivals

1.) Chicago.
2.) Indy.
3.) Miami.
4.) Rockets/Spurs.

As an old school 1990's type of throwback fan? There would be no better feeling in the world (basketball fan wise) than if my Knicks were to eliminate the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat and either the Rockets/Spurs come the NBA Finals.

I don't care what order it's in, but I don't fear the Bulls, Pacers or Miami Heat. Not with this current Knicks team I don't. I'm not looking forward to playing the Bucks, 76ers, Celtics, Nets during the first round etc, etc. I'm ready for whatever team is thrown my way come the first round.

Would love to get the first seed for home court advantage throughout. Best of luck to whichever team's in our way.

I'm probably older than you and even I dont give a damn about half of the past like that.

It aint about the teams it's the rivalry those players on those teams presented.

Currently only the Celtics and Heat are those teams right now...with maybe BK.

I agree. Look at how Miami evolved in the playoffs last year. They looked like they were not advancing against Indy etc. A series against the Celts builds character and personally I would love for the Knicks to be the team to put an end to the Pierce/Garnett era. As you say if you lose to them you are going nowhere anyway.

It's a testament to how bad the bast decade had been. Many fans have to still live in the 90s when thinking of rivalries.

iF we can't get past Celts, then we were not going anywhere anyway.

Dream scenario:

Celtics, then Bkn, Then Miami, then Denver.

NOt saying Denver can get past OKC, its would be fun/interesting to see Melo vs Knuggs and our old friends. Melo vs. Karl. JR vs. Karl.

Nice subplots.
