tonight didn't further my confidence in this team.
6-1 for the seven game run that you said would be a character defining part of the schedule for the Knicks.
Yup. Only the Clippers and Raptors remaining before our all-star break with a chance at a record of 34-16 heading into all-star weekend. As of right now we're 6-1 during our previous 7 games with a potential chance of being 8-1 during our previous 9 (heading into all-star weekend).

6-1.
Damn, google is awesome, even when the team does what the naysayer says, they still complain.Totally hilarious, this team could win it all and someone will say they dont like HOW they won.
It's the way they keep moving the goalposts. Remember when we struggled around christmas time, and suddenly only our last 7 or 8 games counted and were the true reflection of us as a team because we had lost most of them? Then they were talking about judging us on previous years playoff performances. Now it's not even on wins and loses, but the way in which the games are won that is the most important.
Just to end this moving of goalposts- posters like 3G4G, dk7th etc, it's fine if you worry and find fault in the team but could you please just state EXACTLY what this team should be achieving in your eyes- I mean precise record, type of performance etc, and then at least you're not changing the argument every time we start doing well.
you're joking. i have been utterly consistent through the entire season, my man. it's the knicks who haven't been consistent, resulting in the impression you get of someone moving the goalposts.
my expectation from the outset was the ECF. i have said that from the very beginning. i challenge you to find any posts where i stated otherwise. that translates to 55 wins at the very least.
the first 7 games of the season gave me my first whiff of genuine optimism because the defense they were playing, leading to some genuine cohesion on offense, gave me hope that woodson was a better coach than i thought. the effort i saw carmelo anthony making on defense gave me hope that the team was going to excel.
happily they are on pace to reach 55 wins but not more than that. their schedule gets harder the last 34 games. so based on how much harder the schedule is that means that they must play better than they have, ie HOW they play matters a whole bunch.
unhappily, no matter if they actually achieve the 55 games, it is the ECF that is the ultimate goal/expectation i have for this team. and right now they don't look like such a team.
if you haven't noticed not every 55 win team reaches the ECF. ever consider why?
HINT: "that" vs. "how"
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
