Hahn just made this point on espn radio and he is 100% correct.

Knicks rather get out of the way and give the other team an open layup.

Jeffries drew charges. I think you can count on 1 hand the # of chargers we've taken.

Its a problem when you don't block shots.

Hahn also brought up how JR shoots 40% from 3 at home and 23% away

I didn't look at the box score but my memory of the game was the wiz raining threes. It's hard to draw charges when the team is scoring at will without attacking the basket.

I remember some charges, but it isn't something the knicks do a lot.

I look at our team and we don't have that energy guy, TC is kinda like one but not really.

They had wide open layups all game. Knicks didn't get back in transition and when they played decent interior D Amare broke down and they allowed countless open 3's

I think that the charges not being drawn constantly would be symptom and not the problem. I think pointing that out shows is the knicks do not have an energy/hustle guy.

I don't see a JYD or a JJ2 on this team. I don't see a glue guy on our roster, I see a lot of spot up shooters people claim are glue guys though.

Think JR might've had a charge too. You are right Anji we just don't have that player that adds toughness. Maybe Sheed and Camby but they are old and injured

Wow, I have been thinking this all year. Its something I think Melo needs to do to improve his help D since he is not a shot blocker. He has very good eye coordination and can get clean knocks on the ball when someone drive but his attitude is not a shot blocker mentality. He would be better suited sliding over and taking a charge. Its something that needs to be stress to the whole team too. I would also include Tyson in this but he would rather watch guys attempt layups to get the board in case they miss.

Charges are of if the most difficult defensive plays. Unless your name is Fishlips you will be called for a foul a lot. Melo is not an ideal candidate there.

I dont want any of our guys drawing charges and getting hurt. We are an old team.
