Off Rebound rate .253
Defensive rate .755
1.008

Anything over 1 is better then average. The knicks have been rebounding better recently but even early in the year they weren't nearly as bad as commentators (Barkley) were making them out to be. They have a positive TO differential - so they take more shots then there opponents - they take a lot of threes so they miss a higher percentage of there shots. The defense rebounding rate in the league is around 75%. If you have less turn overs then your opponent and take more threes then your opponent then your opponent is going to have more defensive rebound opportunities and you're going to get out rebounded most of the time. The important numbers are you defensive and offensive rebounding rates and the Knick's are good now and weren't terrible at any point this year.

Rebounding has improved since Amare's return and Woodson challenging Tyson

He is correct, though I find it hard to believe, it has a lot to do with Amares return.

Even Tyson is picking up his rebounding from low teens to high teens since Amare has come back.

I still can't believe it................

I had thought about this. The Knicks have a lot of guys who are good rebounders for their position. Assuming Novak isn't just dragging them down all the way, I had suspected it was something like this. Nice research.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

It's impressive how we've turned that around- it used to be our weakness. And we've done it without Camby too. So how have we managed it? Has having Amar'e back helped? are players boxing out more?

Yeah, but we were playing bad teams earlier on too and were rebounding badly.
