I understand that we have a thread specifically designed to speak upon opposing games, but this Miami/Toronto game is much different. It holds lots of significance. I just felt that this thread deserved it's own title; due to the simple fact that with a Miami loss today, our head coach in Mike Woodson then becomes an All-Star coach of the Eastern Conference during only his first (full) season as Knicks head coach.

I'll be pulling for Toronto as if they're the Knicks today. Hopefully Rudy Gay goes off. Last time Gay faced Miami he put up 21 points, 8 boards, 5 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks and Memphis beat Miami by the score of 104-86. Lets see how he responds against Miami but this time, with Toronto.

Our Knicks have a chance to take over All-Star weekend as the topic of discussion. Both Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler will represent our Knicks during the East vs. West All-Star game. Coach Woodson will become head coach of the Eastern Conference with a Miami loss today. Steve Novak has been invited to the three point shootout. Both J.R Smith and James White have been invited to participate in the slam dunk contest.

LETS GO TORONTO!!! Do it for coach MIKE WOODSON!!!

No, other teams don't deserve a "special" thread! Big woo, best record for half a season means nothing! So a coach can coach the game? Should be previous years champ.

A first I didn't look at it as being a big deal but the players want Woody to go. I'm sure being his first time Woody is going to enjoy it.

Problem is if you want to send your coach to the allstar game win the Sixer game instead of getting blown out

And dont let the Kings ever win, but it is what it is.

I do hope the Raptors can pull this off.

Coach Woodson (potentially) becoming an all-star head coach during only his first (full) season as Knicks head coach may not mean anything to the likes of Nalod and gunsewing; but it means something to me.

"Problem is if you want to send your coach to the allstar game win the Sixer game instead of getting blown out".

That remark/comment/reply was (and is) down right hilarious. You do not only know, but also understand that our Knicks have gone 2-1 against Philly this season, right? I must admit, that's a pretty nice way of only remembering one loss during our three matchups against Philly though... Good job.

It's also a nice way of harping all over a single loss during Felton's return from injury while completely ignoring the fact that our Knicks have now won 4 consecutive games dating back to our Philly loss. No mention of that gunsewing? How quickly you've already forgotten? We've won 5 out of our last 6 games, but yet, we have posters/fans pointing to the Philly game as a reason why Woodson may not make it to Houston, Texas? Pretty nice to know.

Maybe we should have gone 6-0 during our last 6 games because it's now obvious that 5-1 is unexceptable to the likes of gunsewing.

On more of a serious note, would you like to know how your players send their head coach to the all-star game? It's not by getting blown out by Philly but has everything to do with a record of 30-15, first place of your Division along with having winning records against the likes of Orlando: 3-0. Miami: 2-0. San Antonio: 2-0. Phoenix: 2-0. Milwaukee: 2-0. Detroit: 2-0. New Orleans: 2-0. Denver: 1-0. Minnesota: 1-0. Cleveland: 1-0. Washington: 1-0. Charlotte: 1-0. Atlanta: 1-0 and Philly: 2-1. That's how.

Is this where Woodson or our Knick players should apologize to the likes of gunsewing for not going undefeated here in 2012-2013? Is this where Woodson and/or our Knick players apologize for only going 5-1 during our previous 6 when compared to "6-0"? The Miami Heat have lost to the Knicks (x2), Memphis, Clippers, Washington, Golden State, Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indy (x2), Jazz and Celtics here in 2012-2013. So with all that said gunsewing, stop acting as if the Knicks have been the only NBA contender in which have actually lost a couple of games.

It's disheartening when you can't even create a thread about your head coach being one Miami loss away from becoming an all-star head coach during only his first full season as Knicks head coach, without having to read comments, post's and/or remarks such as...

"No, other teams don't deserve a "special" thread! Big woo, best record for half a season means nothing! So a coach can coach the game? Should be previous years champ" and/or "Problem is if you want to send your coach to the allstar game win the Sixer game instead of getting blown out".

I just find some of these posters to be down right hilarious.

What's your actual point gunsewing? Was it to troll this thread with negativity?

Because we're first place of our Atlantic Division.
Less than 1/2 a game from being first place of the Entire Eastern Conference.
2-1 against Philly.
Have won 4 consecutive dating back to Philly's loss.
Have won 5 out of our last 6 games.
5th strongest record amongst all NBA teams.

So once again gunsewing, what's your actual point? And what's your excuse(s) for Erik Spoelstra and Miami losing to the likes of...

NY Knicks by 20 points (x2).
Losing to Memphis by 18.
Losing to the Clippers by 7.
Losing to the 11-35 Wizards.
Losing to Golden State.
Losing to Detroit by 10.
Losing to Milwaukee by 19.
Losing to the Bulls by 7.
Losing to the Pacers twice (x2).
Losing to Portland.
Losing to Utah.
Losing to Boston.

Kidd has missed 5 games, Melo has missed 7 games, Felton has missed 12 games, Kurt Thomas has missed 17 games, Rasheed has missed 25 games, Stoudemire has missed 30 games, Camby has missed 31 games and Shumpert has missed 37 games. That's what coach Woodson along with our players have had to overcome here in 2012-2013. Maybe you haven't noticed.

But yea, since you have all the answers gunsewing, since you know exactly how head coaches land all-star appearances etc, etc can you please give me actual insight in regards to key injuries in which Miami and coach Spoelstra has had to fight through here in 2012-2013? I'll be waiting.

How many games has Chalmers missed? 0.
How many games has Felton missed? 12.

How many games has Wade missed? 4.
How many games has Shump missed? 37.

How many games has LeBron missed? 0.
How many games has Melo missed? 7.

How many games has Bosh missed? 1.
How many games has Amar'e missed? 30.

How many games has Ray Allen missed? 1.
How many games has Jason Kidd missed? 5.

And you mean to tell me that Miami's less than 1/2 a game ahead of our Knicks? But yet, you feel the need to point to Philly's loss? Down right laughable. More like pathetic.

You can't say nothing nice about our coach or player without someone finding dirt to throw.Thats the way it is so I just laugh at the dirt throwers.

You know for the past 11 year or more this Knicks team have been in the dumps and now we have a feel good moment and there has got to be someone to throw dirt. Well I guess I will have too live with that but I will now have a better understanding about who is doing it. So the Philly game should negate Woody from coaching the east. Well guess what??? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha I can expect you to say something like that and its OK cause you are really funny. Ha Ha ha Ha.

Your lumping! I said nothing about the Philly game.

This is nothing to do with shytting on Woodsons All star game. I don't watch all star games, they mean nothing to me. Its crap. Its nice for the players.

Tell me this, Woodson coaches and knicks get bounced early in playoffs you gonna be all "well it was a good season, Woody got to coach the allstar game!"

MDA got to coach the offense of the olympic team. Nobody cares about that! Nobody cares about the Allstar game.

I think baseball lets the guys manage from the season befores results. Two finals coach. That is an honor!

Its not a bad thing, and nobody is shytting on the team.

BTW, teams will have bad nites so Its no big deal we lose games. Lets see how it all unfolds the rest of the season.

No one cares about your head coach coaching during an all-star game? That's like saying no one cares about being first place of the entire conference heading into the all-star break. You're dead wrong.

And you don't have to watch the All-Star game. But Knick fans who support Melo, Chandler and possibly Woodson, Novak, James White and J.R Smith will.

I never said it was a bad thing.

Why is being in first place important at the allstar game? So you can freak out when then drop from it?

Only thing that counts is after the regular season and the seeding you get cuz its home advantage and play weaker teams earlier.

Im happy for Woodson if he goes, but big fooking deal otherwise.

Our Knicks are one Miami loss away from being first place if the entire Eastern Conference and our head coach in Mike Woodson is only ONE HALF away from making an All-Star appearance during only his first full season as Knicks head coach. Raptors up on Miami at the half by the score of 50-44!!

Rudy Gay, the only Raptor in which I mentioned during my OP just FEASTED during the first half,

Nalod wrote: Why is being in first place important at the allstar game?

Because it means that you're first place of your entire conference 50 games into the season. Oh wait, maybe the goal is to be 12th place 50 games into the season ala having to climb uphill throughout the remainder of the regular season? Yea, right, that's it.

Nalod wrote: you can freak out when then drop from it?

Actually, no, you're wrong. Being first place of an entire conference means that you're in first place with only 32 regular season games remaining. It means, that at the All-Star break, the #1 seed has a head start amongst all opposing teams moving forward ala an advantage moving forward,

Nalod wrote: Only thing that counts is after the regular season and the seeding you get

Yea, right. As if you just "magically appear" with the number one seed and/or if our first 50 games of the regular season means nothing. Only thing that counts is after the regular season? Yea, right. Tell that to the likes of PHX, NOH, SAC, MIN, DAL, WAS, CHA, CLE, ORL, TOR, DET etc, etc. How many of these teams are still playing meaningful games?

Also, I will always and forever QUOTE you on "The only thing that counts is after the regular season and the seeding you get". So, the next time you make a negative remark after a Knicks loss and/or harp all over our Knicks due to a single loss, you know what I'll quote moving forward? "THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS IS AFTER THE REGULAR SEASON SO QUIT YOUR REGULAR SEASON COMPLAINING". lol.

Also, fans such as myself enjoy the journey to the postseason and/or potential championship. The Journey and the challenges that we've had to overcome as a team. Fans, such as yourself, don't understand that A.) You must win during the regular season in order to even B.) Have a chance come postseason play. Do teams such as PHX, NOH, SAC, MIN, DAL, HOU, POR, LAL, WAS, CHA, CLE, ORL, TOR, DET, BOS and/or PHI have a chance at the number one seed here in 2012-2013? The answer would be NO. And the reasoning behind the answer? Because they've failed heading into the All-Star break ala regular season.

SO WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT GUY?!? Or, are you just being negative for the sake of being negative?

In closing, if the goal is to end up with the number one seed during the regular season, wouldn't it be safe to say that owning the #1 seed 50 games into the regular season puts you in solid position to do just that during your remaining 32 games; Enter the playoffs with the number one seed. Or, would it be the goal to be the 5th-15th seed heading into the All-Star break?

Last but not least, you do know that the regular season ala playoff run started on November 2nd of 2012 against the Miami Heat, right? 45 games ago. We won that battle. It's now Feb 3rd of 2013. The chase/run/goal for the playoffs doesn't start on April 18th. You do know that, right? So your little "only thing that matters is after the regular season" sounds very clueless and makes zero sense.
