Does Allan Houston suck or is he just Lazy? I think he plays well at times, but he does not make a continuous effort. He just lets up as though he doesn't care. Maybe he is too comfortable with the 100 mil.

Is there anyone out there who can make a case for this guy? Is it unfair to focus too much criticism on him? I'm just fed up with what seems to be his lack of effort.

He does have to work harder because he's not living up to his potential. He's a great shooter and a great scorer and it seems he only plays well when he wants to. What separates him from players like Bryant, McGrady, Carter, Allen, and even Latrell Sprewell is his leadership and consistency. Sprewell sometimes doesn't score consistently, but generally always comes to play and lead the team. Thats why this year he will be an all-star and Houston probably won't. It's still early in the season however and as Walt Frazier pointed out, Houston has always started seasons very slowly and gets into the flow of things later in the season. If he doesn't pick it up by december though, he should be traded for a young player with a great future like Stromile Swift, Wally Szczerbiak, Bonzi Wells, Darius Miles, or Lamar Odom. That way we can form a great nuleus of Camby, Sprewell, and that third player and we can build a championship team around them.
