First and foremost. Do you remember the Ewing years? If so, do you remember how many times we won the Atlantic under Starks, Mason, Oakley and Ewing? The answer would be two times under Ewing. 1993 and 1994 back to back.
Do you remember the last time we were second place of the entire Eastern Conference 41 games into the regular season?
Why do I mention this? Because during only Melo's first (full) season as a Knick, we're already first place of the Atlantic and second place of the entire Eastern Conference until proven otherwise.
Do you not remember how Melo led a New York school to their first (and only) NCAA National Championship? Do you not understand/know that Melo may have been raised in Baltimore, but born in New York. This man has always had a New York type of pride, dreamed of playing for our Knicks since childhood days and even forced his way out of Denver... For our Knicks.
But yet, you're harping all over Melo during his first (full) season as a Knick? Nice to know. Check the standings. When's the last time we've even won the Atlantic? 1994.
gunsnewing wrote:Remember what he said on media day?
Yep. We remember. What's your actual point? He stated that we're going to win ball games. Stop trying to make Melo out as a liar and/or a fraud of his word heading into the season. As as a team, we've won. And here in 2012-2013 there is no question who's been our leader. Carmelo Anthony himself.
Melo's led us to a team record of 26-15. First Place of the Atlantic by 1.5 games. Second Place of the Eastern Conference while being 2.5 games back of the NBA's defending world champions. Blame it on Melo.
He's done most of this, while being without Felton and especially Shumpert and Stoudemire. Not to mention the fact that Melo's been surrounded by veterans (outside of Kidd) who can't seem to stay healthy in Stoudemire, Kurt, Rasheed and Camby. Brewer has done nothing. Copeland is a 28 year old rookie. White is a complete unknown and/or career nothing and Pablo's not only an overseas player but also one of the oldest NBA rookies of all time ala still adjusting. Sure, blame it all on Melo.

20 point victory over the Miami Heat.
21 point victory over Detroit.
21 point victory over the Wizards.
22 point win over New Orleans.
And since this thread is all about making a mockery out of Carmelo Anthony, as if we haven't lived up to his offseason words... Let's talk the facts.
The Knicks are 26-15 as a team.
But without Melo the Knicks only happen to be 3-4. Those 3 wins (without Melo) were against Cleveland by 1. Phoenix by 2 and Miami by 20.
Those 4 loses (without Melo) were against the Kings by 1. Pacers by 5. Houston by 13 and Chicago by 8.
Stop trying to paint an ugly picture on how Melo is some type of "loser" when our Knicks are...
A.) 26-15 overall.
B.) 3-4 without Melo.
C.) 23-11 with Melo.
D.) First place of our Atlantic Divison.
E.) Second place of the entire Eastern Conference.
F.) During only Melo's fist (full) season as a Knick.
Blame Melo.
gunsnewing wrote: Then why must Amare come off the bench. Only to protect Melo's 29pts scoring avg?
Nice way of trying to knock our Knick who ranks 2nd amongst all players in NBA scoring ala right up there with Durant and LeBron.
Nice way of using Stoudemire as a way of knocking Melo as well. Nice agenda.
And since when does Melo decide who starts, who's healthy, who's injured, who sits and who plays?
Is Melo also our head coach?
I thought that's why we had coach Woodson...
Is it now time for coach Woodson to go?
Why is Stoudemire not starting? Ask coach Woodson. Or better yet, ask the same player who only played 1 preseason game while missing 30 regular season games due to injury. Amar'e Stoudemire himself.
Are these not the actual reasons on why Stoudemire hasn't started a single game yet?
Right. Blame Melo.
gunsnewing wrote: How about starting Amare and having Melo honor his word about not caring if he scores less this season but getting Amare involved?
That's on coach Woodson ala not starting Amar'e Stoudemire; not Melo.
Stop trying to act as if it's Amar'e who's led us to first place of the Atlantic Division.
Stop trying to act as if it's been Amar'e who's led us to second place of the Eastern Conference.
Let's stop trying to act as if it's been Amar'e (during the games Melo has played) who's led us to a record of 23-11.
Let's stop acting as if it's been Melo who's had a history of injuries throughout his NBA career.
Lets stop acting as if it's Melo who's only played one preseason games due to injury.
Lets stop trying to act as if it's Melo who's been forced to miss 30 out of our 41 ball games due to injury.
gunsnewing wrote: Melo is struggling. Instead of forcing 25 footers on triple teams how about moving the ball?
23-11 with Melo. Right. Blame Melo.
How about guys such as Brewer, J.R, Shumpert, Felton, Novak, Kidd and Pablo actually hit their shots? ala all players in which Melo has a better shooting percentage than. Maybe then, just then, we'll see better ball movement.
gunsnewing wrote: Or how about just starting Amare and bringing Melo off the bench until he gets out of his shooting slump
Yea, that's a good one. Did you not see what Melo did to Boston during the entire 2nd half? Led us to victory against the Celtics in Boston. Out performed K.G during the entire second half like no tomorrow. Pierce too.
Yea, right. Start Stoudemire over Melo. 23-11 with Melo but yet only 5-6 with Amar'e Stoudemire.
Seems to me as if Amar'e has been the problem thus far. Not Melo. It's Stoudemire's job to fit into our team. He's the one who's missed all but 1 preseason game along with 30 of our first 41 games.
We were 21-9 before Stoudemire's return. Send Melo to the bench in favor of Amar'e Stoudemire? Too funny.
gunsnewing wrote: Starting Melo at the 4 with Shump at 3 is not the answer Woodson is getting a little too cavalier with the starting lineups geared toward's protect Melo's 29pt avg.
That's on coach Woodson.
But now coach Woodson is "protecting" Melo's scoring average? Pathetic to say the least.
Stoudemire just returned from injury. That's why he's on the bench. Shumpert just returned from injury as well. We're working the kid back into our rotation if you haven't noticed despite his awful shooting thus far.
The reason why Melo has started at the 4 is not to protect his "scoring average". We've actually won with Melo at the 4. It's because Stoudemire, Kurt, Rasheed and Camby have all been injured. Melo at the 4. Have you not watched the season thus far?
gunsnewing wrote: Can't be losing to Sacremento and Philly if you plan on finishing with a top 2 seed.Enough is enough.
Enough is enough. Take your own advice.
It's funny you bring up Philly and Sac during a thread crapping all over Melo. Because...
A.) We're 2-1 with Melo against Philly.
B.) We never lost to SAC with Melo.
The Knicks lost to the Kings during a game in which Melo wasn't playing. You did know that, right? I take not.
At least attempt to make sense when bashing our greatest all-around Knick since Patrick Ewing.
