The Stoudemire starting issue has reared its ugly head again because of Felton’s return, Stoudemire’s surge and Woodson’s admission the long-range goal is for guard Jason Kidd to return to the bench. (Kidd reinjured his back in Boston on Thursday and is unlikely to play tonight.)

- Marc Berman

We have battled through injuries, led by a coach who has plugged and played everyone. Two players who barely made the roster, James White and Chris Copeland, have started.

If healthy, Kidd could start again, depending on the opponent. Woodson said James White would start at small forward Saturday, alongside Shumpert and Felton. Chris Copeland is a candidate for that spot, too, but he did not play Thursday against the Celtics because, Woodson said, “he’s not practicing hard enough for me.” -Tim Rohan, NYTimes

Best five finish.

Its not an issue. He's being brought up to speed slowly. No sense in starting him until Felton returns and Sheed and/or Camby return to backup Tyson.

Really looking forward to being 100% healthy in a week or two

Pretty upsetting news that Woodson stated that Chris Copeland isn't practicing hard enough. Credit to coach Woodson for benching the 28 year old rookie.

Raymond Felton's return is today?!? Can't wait!

You know how it is, "starting" is the holy cup since Pee Wee League,

The ugly head rears itself only in superficial treatment of the situation, those that are hip to the game understand what's what

Stat starts when Camby and Sheed can replace him off the bench.

As long as Stat finish's thats all that matters.

It's not an issue, it's just lazy journalism- they just have 4 of 5 stock stories that they try to bring out and recycle every season:

Stories of "Will JR be happy coming off the bench?! Trouble brewing!"
JR accepts bench role and plays great.
Stories of "Will Amar'e accept bench role?! Trouble brewing!"
Amar'e returns and accepts bench role- all is fine.

Where's the story?!

What I'm more interested is whether Woody's plan is to keep Amar'e at 20mins. He's been cleared for 30mins for a few games now. Is he trying to preserve his health, or just waiting for him to get up to speed?

In the last 4 games, Amar'e is averaging about 22mins, shooting 57%, 5.5rebs and 15pts. Pretty good- hopefully he can increase the rebounding and the block shots.

I'm glad someone is trying to preserve STAT's health since the organization has done a horrible job of it in his first two years. I say keep him on the bench longer and have him gain more confidence. It's one thing to perform well against the opposing team's second stringers, but it's another thing to carry that into the starting lineup.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick
