Please do it Melo,

whenever someone mentions 'double nickel', it's how Jordan dropped it on us,

now Melo can change the entire landscape,

the double nickel can be a positive term for the Knicks

Trivia time, who was the last Knick to drop 50 points? I know the answer, do you?

Don't know the answer, I'll take a wild guess and say Jamal Crawford? But yea, Melo's yet to drop 50 points but he has dropped 40+ 6 times since becoming a Knick.

I'd rather a Knick (be it Melo or someone else) take the MSG scoring record back. Kobe just waltzed in here - dropped 61 points against almost no resistance.

Me too. The double nickel has already left the building, it belongs to Jordan and nothing can change that. But, we can get the scoring record back and that's what we should be hoping for.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Melo takes enough shots. Only problem is he doesnt hit enough. For example last night he scored 2x what Amare did but took 4x the shots to do it. Maybe he's just working his way up to 50 shots a game? 80 might get it done...

Melo going for 55 would likely mean Iso-Melo to the n'th degree. With all the double teaming he faces, that would not be good basketball.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

If he drops 55, he would be really hot that game, like anything he puts up is going in. I don't think he'll drop 55 shooting 39%, I think it will be a game where he is just on fire, en fuego nba jam style,

he hasn't been hot balls in a while, it's gotta be coming up soon

If it does happen it will be because Felton is back. Felton was breaking down the defense and getting Anthony wide open shots. Without Felton, he has to work much harder.

Or it will be because all our other dinosaurs were injured and he had to play 1 on 5 literally.

A player should never go into a game looking to score certain amount of points. Scoring should happen in the flow of the game. Great players don't need to-do that.

This thread is the mentality that DON'T want from our players.

Who the hell cares how many points a player scores in a game?

fishmike you're not seeing the bigger picture. if our offense is bad enough we can just have melo take all the shots. i for one want to see him break triple digits in attempts and then hold a hand written 100 sign like wilt after the game.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I'll provide you with these telling quotes from none other Lebron and Dwayne Wade....

“It's like a competition me and D-Wade are having right now about who can shoot 50 percent, in each and every game,” James said, when asked a couple of days later. “I had no idea, because I don't know what's going on throughout the game as far as stats. I came in after the game, I saw 9-for-19 and I missed that last long three, I felt I could have gotten into the lane and got a layup. I've got to make up for it.

“Early in my career, I didn't take every shot as seriously as I do now, to be more efficient,” James said. “It comes with age, it comes with experience. You know, when you're an 18-year-old rookie, or a 21-year-old, third year in the league, you can get away with a lot of mistakes, and not looking at numbers as much. But as I've gotten older, I've been more efficient, taking care of the ball. I value possessions more.”

“We're both so conscious of wanting to shoot 50 percent that sometimes you wish you had that Kobe [Bryant] thought, where you just don't care,” Wade said. “We talk about it all the time. It sucks at times, but it's who we are.”

Here's what's even more telling from Wade's 9yr career this being his 10th...he's shot less than 49% only 4 times. So obviously he hasn't shot bad from the floor and to be fair he's primarily been a finisher in his career but taking this mentality/approach to the game only shows why these guys have been the standard.

Lebron never shot better than 49% until 2009-2010 but since then

50.3%
51.7%
53.1%
55.0%

ROTFLOL!!!!!

Neither are PROLIFIC or PURE or ELITE....Just a model of EFFICIENCY
