"New Orleans Pelicans" — I don't know, man. It just sounds kind of clumsy of the tongue. Since the NBA has opened the door with any future Seattle franchise retaining the "Supersonics" name, they really should have just made Utah an offer they couldn't refuse for the "Jazz" name. But then I guess Minnesota would want their Lakers back then.

Blue, white and gold are the colors for Louisiana, so I like what's going on there in the logo. But I hope the red is just an arbitrary background color.

Apparently the New Orleans flag is red, white, blue and gold, so I guess I can see why that's there now.

Sounds fine.

Minnesota Timberwolves
Charlotte Bobcats
Milwaukee Bucks
Chicago Bulls
Atlanta Hawks

We'll get used to it.

All those animals have a bit more badassery associated with them than a "pelican" though.

Charlotte said they will try to get the Hornets name back. Hopefully the same teal/purple colors. Always loved those uniforms

Didn't know the Pelicans were a long-time minor league baseball team in N.O. So I guess folks from there would have a more positive association with the return of that team name.

I like it and it feels like its their team now. Not Charlotte's team that moved.

I suppose its the state bird so they good with it. Nice looking logo too, the bird not too "Cartoon" like.

Bring the Hornets back to Charlotte. Might be good for them to reboot things down there also.

I guess I shouldn't sleep on a pelican.

That was in London just last week. They told the pelican that the pigeon tastes like La La.

That's not the logo, it's a fake- here's the real one, it looks better:

I like it, although people have pointed out it's a tad similar to the Atlanta Hawks logo.

We're fans of the "Knickerbockers". Do we really have the right to complain about "Pelicans" not being badass?

Don't know why these teams name their schools after tropical birds, just doesn't sound right. I got a school in my area called the Ospreys!

I thought New Orleans Brass would have been cool. I hope they don't use that gold as a main color for a uniform because I think it'd look hideous

Gold unitforms would be pretty dope. I'm thinking the could look like the 49ers with that scheme.

Awesome logo I am a fan of the Pelicans already,

On Draft Day:

"Son, how does it feel to be a Pelican?"

"I've always wanted to be a Pelican, it's great"
