If J.R. Smith's final shot attempt had been as on target as this postgame tweet then the New York Knicks might have beaten the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. But Smith's potential game-tying three-point shot banked off the backboard and clanged off the rim in the final seconds, allowing the Nets to escape Madison Square Garden with an 88-85 win.

Not long after the final buzzer sounded, Kris Humprhries fired off a victory tweet.

More than a thousand people re-tweeted this message and at least one player on the Knicks noticed: Smith. The Knicks' mercurial shooting guard decided to shoot back at the current Brooklyn Nets power forward and former Mr. Kardashian.

Although Kanye West did perform at MSG last month as part of the 12-12-12 benefit concert, it seems a safe bet that Smith was referring to the fact that the rapper also impregnated Humphries' ex. On Dec. 31, Kim announced that she and Kanye were expecting.

Ouch.

Even in victory, Humphries still ended up losing. Smith's tweet got more than 40,000 re-tweets over the next few hours and more than 15,000 favorites. This isn't the first time that Humphries has taken a postgame jab at an opponent on Twitter but it may very well be his last.

Well, at least JR didn't include any pictures or sonograms of the Kanye/Kardashiam progeny...

If they really want to get down to it.

Hump really lacks any personality and was an idiot for playing along with the Khardasian whore house.

Its all good banter and we get to read the trash talking.

I hope JR can get a long term deal and hold on to his money. He is going to need it.

KG does it he's scum of the Earth, but when JR does it its kinda cute.

I almost feel sorry for Hump. I wonder if he actually loved her and thought for 20 seconds their relationship was worth a fart in the wind. Poor chap. Having a baby out of wedlock with a tool like Kanye is aprospos. Perfect actually.

Once again when are our players going to grow up and learn from things like this. Fans said our team will learn from our past beefs right? Where are the signs that we are? If you're trying to get return pot shots in on Twitter it proves how trivial and sensitive our players are.

Earl is mad all because Humphries said the Garden was quiet after they left with a victory...Seriously so he takes it to a real personal level? This is why I find it very difficult to like Smith.

To not respond at all because how many Knicks responded? It only takes 1 to ruin the team's ability to display mental composure. What Humphries said isn't worth acknowledging....

So when Smith tweeted a couple mos back about us beating a couple teams were the opposing players supposed to show their manhood and lash back at him with Tweets?

If it's about what is Earl supposed to do then okay he took the kid gloves off well at this point Shump/Melo/Chandler/Sheed/Novak all need to show Humphries what they're made of and reply back to him. You know to take some of the pressure off Earl to do it all.

I love a good JR bash moment myself, but this is not on the court issue nor is he breaking any laws.

Might be in bad taste but looking at his Tat's one does not expect proper etiquette or good taste from him.

Hump put it all out there and was made to look the fool. I feel sorry for him and maybe he did have feelings but he knew what he was getting into and signed on what that attenion whore monger troop of shallow sluts and in the end has to thank his lucky stars she set him free.

Bruce Jenner was a national hero after winning the Decathlon in the 1976 olympics. He broke the world record in the event that many consider to crown the best athlete in the world. It was at one time the most prestigious event.

Now he looks like an ugly women!

Poor poor Kris Humphries. Those with ho ex-wives should be careful utilizing social networking devices.

Pro ball players have way too much time on their hands. JR should be busy keeping that achilles warm.

IM sure Kris can counter with some crack about JR's driving ability that resulted in that horrific death.

JR should keep the personal out of the public but its kinda funny also. Kris did get married on TV.

If Kris did, he'd be a complete idiot for doing so....principally speaking you make a good point though.

Hoping our team grows up before the playoffs start but as of right in the here and now appears like they won't....

What J.R. did is similar to a fan going to a Sports Forum post game checking out Opponents Team Page and then finds some comments they didn't like and proceeds to vent back in reply with their post(s)...

What did Earl expect? I bet J.R. was checking every Nets player Twitter Page after the game. Question I ask, why is he on Twitter immediately after a loss? Why isn't J.R. letting Dolan and Woody fight the battles?

I agree fish, although i wish hump just lets it go.. but I think he is hurt and he wants to make her pay. I think he really liked her, maybe loved her.... as far as JR smith goes.. again, this guy is a mental midget.. what do you expect..

I do too actually. Which is why I didn't see anything wrong with what Garnett did to Melo. U gottta be able to deal with this stuff.

Old story about Humph was he as a big time recruit out of high school and Kansas wanted him bad. After his visit they withdrew the offer because he was an incredible egocentric dick during the visit. Thats rare.

to his credit has a 10 year old swimmer he was like national champion and regularly beat Michael Phelps.

Funny to read this crap but I just go by what is on the court and while he is limited, he plays hard and is not a bad player. I caught an episode of the "the Association" and they were featuring him that day and he is a pretty dry dude. The show is real hype crap.
