he tries, but at times he is just devastating.
like for example against Boston, whenever he was in the game whoever he was guarding was either scoring 2 points or going to the line.

yeah - he is not good and gets forced into switches and mismatches but he certainly does the best he could and often forces the opposing player into a bad shot since he assumes that Novak will just quit

When Melo moves the ball out of doubles, takes it to the hole, plays hard on defense he's impressive.

When Melo shoots over double teams, keeps shooting even when he's not having a good day, takes plays off on defense...not so much.

And people are talking about trading Novak for "veteran muscle"? What a joke. The man's 2/5 from beyond the arc today, led the entire league in three point percentage last season and currently ranks 3rd here in 2012-2013 in regards to three point shooting percentage.

I guess in the eyes of (some) NY Knicks fans, if Novak isn't leading the NBA ala being ranked #1 in 3 point shooting; it's time to TRADE HIM! Being 3rd amongst the entire NBA just isn't good enough. What a freaking laughing stock joke some of these people are...
