Bottom line: Melo needs another superstar with him, every other big team has 2 big kahunas, you're asking Melo to go at it alone

You're asking Melo to do this thing alone and he's cracking under the pressure.

You need TWO superstars in this league to win and the sad reality is that we only have ONE.

Amar'e will go down as the worst max contract in the history of the Universe, not just the Planet,

It's fine to distribute the pressure and leadership across many smaller players, but at the end of the day you gotta have TWO guys that are equally capable of pulling the strings,

Knicks can win a championship, but it will be in a few years when he have room to sign another Big Kahuna straight out

And lord bless JR SWAGBALLS, but he's really a middling scorer that is playing way above his head in a contract year, don't get it twisted,

What Knicks need to do is make a strong move at Howard, include Shump too once he proves he is healthy, Lakers are the only team that can eat Amar'e's deal and it makes sense for them this year since they committed to MDA

You really have to throw the barn at LA and HOward, Howard is a much better fit in New YOrk than in LA, and the way I see it is that Howard wants no part of that pitbull, that bulldog, Kobe Bryant,

Melo and Howard are natural running mates because of their easy going personalities, this is a match made in heaven, a match made for NEW YORK!!

So you want the Lakers to trade Howard (and his expiring contract) for Shump and Amare? Keep dreaming my friend.

Let's not get caught on Howard, even though I believe that WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY, THAT'S WHY MY NAME IS IRON WILL

The point is that we need a SECOND KAHUNA!!!

Imo, Amar'e contract worse than Houston by a mile!!! We went to the Finals with Houston, nuff said

Many of us are upset we let Lin go because we thought he had All Star potential (and I don't mean by being voted in). He sure isn't playing like that now, but having Lin, Kidd and Felton at the PG position would sure have helped us out now. Not to mention Lin is very good at the end of games. I know, what is 12 points a game, but we know he can score more, he is just playing within his role.

I don't see us getting another star as we don't have assets to send for a (near) star with a bad contract (and we are capped out). Speaking of assets and our situation cap wise, why again did we let Lin go for nothing?

i thought we should not let him go for NOTHING

at least not because of 1 year taxes that we don't even pay yet

We could use him now, trade him in a year, and get back value/assets, rather than trading for 40 year olds and giving up asset's
Under Kidd, he might even develop to a better PG as well, the whole purpose of getting Kidd
Kidd is not a PG at this stage of his career but he sure could teach a thing or two about the position

How does Lin fit in with this convo? The OP said superstar player, not a role player.

Dirk did it without a "superstar." Melo just needs to get his head back in the game, focus on bringing it every night and keep his mind off of delicios, O shaped cereals and he'll be fine.

I would happy if Amare was half the 100 million dollar he is suppose to be.

Papabear Says

Dirk had snipers who could make shots and defenders who could defend.
