KiddJan 6th statement(Celtics)
"No, no, no," Jason Kidd said. "They're not done at all. There's a lot of basketball. They got a great coach and they understand what it takes to win."
Nov 17th statement(Grizzlies)
“Emotion is part of the game,’’ Jason Kidd said. “This is a test that we can learn from. We’ll just chalk this one up and remember what to do if we’re ever in this situation again.’’
Nov 23rd statement(Rockets 1rst Game)
“We weren’t really focused on Lin,’’ Jason Kidd said. “We were more focused on the two guys that got going, Harden and Parsons. Those two guys were playing at a high level, not the other way around.’’
Carmelo
Jan 6th statements(Celtics)
"We don't even think about them," Anthony said. "No disrespect or anything. We're focused on ourselves. It just so happens the Celtics is the next game on our schedule."
"It's going to be a big game," Anthony said after scoring 40 points in Saturday's win at Orlando. "Anytime New York plays Boston it's a big game, physical game. We're more concerned about ourselves than the Boston Celtics, just moving forward and getting better."
Jan 12th statement(Bulls)
“They beat us three times, we’re not worried about Chicago at this point,’’ Anthony said. “We’ll see them when we see them.’’
Nov 23rd statement(Rockets 1rst Game)
“Maybe I have to do a better job with not getting so frustrated,” said Anthony, who led the Knicks with 37 points. “Just accept the fact that this is the way it’s going to be.”
Tyson
Jan 6th statement(Celtics)
"They do things late in the season," Tyson Chandler added. "There's not much of a sense of urgency as far as the regular season goes because they know they've been together a long time and know they can turn it on."
Jan10th statement(Pacers)
“Playing shorthanded was a factor,” Chandler said. “Guys are not used to playing with each other. Give the Pacers credit. They played really well defensively against Miami and against us. They are for real.”
“I give the Pacers all the credit in the world for playing solid defense,” Chandler said. “We thought this was one game we could come in and steal, but I also know we’re very undermanned right now.”
Nov 17th statement(Grizzlies)
“It definitely makes an impact when you start questioning everything,’’ said Tyson Chandler, who was also in foul trouble most of the night against Memphis’ big front. “When guys get frustrated you are not yourself out there. It was just nasty for us all night.’’
Nov 23rd statement(Rockets 1rst Game)
“That team looked like they wanted to beat us,” Chandler said. “I don’t think it was for anybody. They came out ready to play. ... They kicked our butts for four quarters.”
“They kicked our butts for four quarters,’’ said Tyson Chandler, who had a soft defensive game. “We got to be concerned. That team isn’t better than us. They’re not 30 points better than us. I take responsibility."
Amar'e
Jan 10th statement(Bulls)
“The league is a very competitive league and no one is going to feel sorry for us,” Stoudemire said. “Chicago is next and I guarantee you they are not going to feel sorry for us.”
Felton
Dec 18th statement(Rockets 2nd Game)
“We were a little flat, at times fatigued, at times I was fatigued out there,’’ Felton said. “It’s a tough matchup for us.’’
Woody
Dec 17th statement(Rockets prior to 2nd Game)
“We have a way of coming up with big plays, guys stepping up, making big plays and that is how it’s got to be,’’ Woodson said. “No excuses.’’
Nov 23rd Rockets(1rst Game)
“They beat us in every way you can beat a team,” Woodson said after his team fell to 8-3. “I know you can have games like this over the course of the year, but this is unacceptable. An awful, awful performance on our part.”
Nov 17th statement(Grizzlies)
“I don’t think we lost composure,’’ Woodson said after he, Carmelo Anthony and Rasheed Wallace were T’d up during the Grizzlies’ 31-point third quarter. “Our guys are competitive. They want to win. We had a six-game winning streak and we didn’t want to see it come to an end. But it did. Now we want to start another winning streak.’’
You can tell from these comments made you can see the different personalities on this team and what appears to be missing sorely is LEADERSHIP. They all say different things and when you look at the things taking place after games where we've performed bad a pattern of bad behavior and habits have set in. Some are saying things are unacceptable and there should be a level of concern others are saying they aren't as concerned with teams/players, some say the games can prove to be a lesson learned but their actions to follow don't back it up. You have a coach that says "no excuses" but then players speaking on being shorthanded missing players in games after losses. Not good, they should all be on the same page mentally and it starts with the Head Coach. I'm going to start placing more blame on him, he's gotta do a better job managing this team on and off the court from a professional standpoint.
