We all know and understand the reg season doesn't mean a whole lot to veteran teams . What counts is how healthy teams are and playing at the end of reg season and playoffs.

With that being said can you honestly say what we are seeing on display these days is the team we will suit up come playoff time ?

When we have a healthy roster with our best defensive player(Iman Shumpert) back in uniform shutting down the opponents best swing man or pg whom ever gives us the most problems.

When we have a healthy Felton breaking down opposing defenses a offensive and defensive tandem of the vets Sheed and Camby(12 fouls) with Melo and JR Smith causing havoc on offese.

Amare & Chandler , Novak automatically become some what of a threat because of the ball movement of Kidd and Prigioni with pick and roll and uncontested downtown production because of dribble penetration.

What we saw earlier in the season is the real NY KNICKS. What we see know is a battered and tattered bunch who rely on players who are now out injured who balance the team out .

I'm not really concerned the way we are playing now (just upset)at the depleted manpower we once had.

Most of us have watched enough basketball to know that early success isn't as important as end of the season success along with a teams confidence.

This team when all together will be a team that nobody will want to play in postseason, because these guys are all battled tested in post season play and won't be rattled when the half court pressure play takes over NBA basketball games.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Even earlier in the season I dont think we saw the real Knicks. The real Knicks will be seen with Shump back

It's just the tides and the moons,

Probably was never as good as it looked and it's not as bad as it looks now,

As a fan, I'm praying to the Universe that Knicks gets hot late in year and we ride the gravy train into the Conference Finals,

Want Shumpdawg back, that alone is a pretty big addition, he's no Duncan or Dirk, but he's a lock down, filthy type of player that you need in the playoffs,

Not right away because its going to take Shump time to trust his knees. Rubio is struggling right now. Hopefully by April if not next year. Hopefully getting Felton back will make us a contender again

Was sheed and Camby playing to help shore up our interior when Chandler sits ?

We're second in the division, doing better than anyone predicted in the preseason, and honestly these boards have never, never been worse. The worst part of us losing is coming on these boards and reading hater, after hater, spew their gleefully warped logic (Oh, every knick win doesn't count, only their losses are the truth! Trade everyone who hasn't had a monster game in the past week! We suck! Every team is better than us! Everything is going to get worse, and only worse! Amar'e hasn't hit his stride after 23 minutes- he must suck! Our players are immature! Everything our players do is wrong, and everything opposing players do is right!).

What happened to all the fun? The positivity or enthusiasm?

A lot of people here have this psychological need for things to be bad, so their own fragile egos can be vindicated about being right about "the trade", and also the memory of their mediocre favorites like Gallo and lin can also be vindicated. Its all so stupid.

Earlier in the season Sheed was. He played our first game in garbage minutes and was part of the rotation not long after. Camby took a while to really get going though but we saw what he could do with Tyson a long side him once he did. I just believe that once we see Shumpert with those guys (knees fully healed and rust shaken off as gunsnewing pointed out), we'll at least know how good our overall team defense can be.

I agree, teams will slump here and there, that's a part of the process,

At the same time, it's about that time when this team should be snapping out of the funk,

There's a slump and then there is an extended slump, and an extended slump is never good for anyone, not for you, not for me NOT FOR NOTHIN' AND NO ONE!

If we keep bombing January, then I will have reason for concern, then it's an extended slump and you have to begin to question our foundation,

Now is the time to reverse the funk and drop buckets, get back to the winning ways!

Some people react like they have some sort of major investment in the team.

Even pro owners don't start to sweat until the playoffs roll around.

People need something else to complain about other than their own life choices and problems.

To be fair, I'd say we all have some sort of emotional investment in the team, as well as time and money. But I agree, the level of criticism seems to suggest people are projecting some sort of other issues onto the team, which I get- it's just annoying and for me, its taking some of the fun out of it, reading people trashing everything all the time. I wouldn't mind, but compared to the last 10 years, this season we have things pretty good.

I agree about a handle of people but how boring would this place be if everyone agreed and was not allowed to be critical? Kinda defeats the purpose of a forum/discussion in my honest opinion

It's not criticism itself that's the downer, but the sheer amount of it and the fact it's not even in any sort of fun way, if that makes sense. It's like having someone come round to your house and spend the whole time insulting the color of the walls, the carpet, the quality of the building, your girlfriend, your family, the clothes you are wearing etc etc, and constantly claiming "I told you so!"- you just get to the point of wanting to scream "STFU and GTFO!"
