* Isiah and Lenny Wilkens acknowledged the Knicks have missed Mutombo's defensive presence and plan to use him when he makes his return Friday vs. the Nets. Isiah, who had shopped Mutombo at the trade deadline, even found himself comparing Mutombo to Bill Russell.
"His past has shown he can affect the game," Isiah said. "He could have an effect on a whole series, if the matchup is right."

Yeah Mutombo can be used but off the bench. But then where do you play Sweetney and Baker....you gotta play both of them. Nazr has been playing well as the starting center so I don't want to see his role change.
It'll be tough. Maybe you use Mutombo as a decoy to annoy guys like Jermaine O'neal with some cheap shots using his 6 fouls.
The current rotation of Baker, Sweetney, Nazr, and KT has been great. Mutombo would just be insurance.

Exactly. He will be fouls when the playoffs come around. We all know that the game turns into a half court game during the playoffs, and when the other team is driving and dunking (and maybe shaky with the outside shot) Deke is the man. For 15 minutes a game only. And no cutting into Baker and Sweetney.
