I saw this on the wire. I really liked this guy coming out of college. A very good pure PG but he lacks in athleticism.
If no one picks him up the Rockets will sign him to their d-league team. I don't see how we could create a roster spot for him, even as bad as Brewer is playing.

I really wish the NBA would allow owning a players rights while still having them on your d-league team BUT not counting against your 15 man roster. I imagine something along these lines are done in the next few years...

It would be a good idea to have a bonafide minor league to feed the NBA. We can bring over some youthier Euros and incubate them here.

Former All star in the making, Jorts, has also just been cut by the heat (Apparantly they're going to work out Birdman). People blasted the Camby trade saying we gave up too much, but neither Jorts nor Jerome Jordan are on teams, and will be FAs this offseason.

And take money from the college plantation....I think Not !

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I know we can't sign him for a year, but to step on the toes of earthmans' earlier comment, is it possible to sign him to the Bayhawks (granted, we would not officially own his rights, keep him close to the organization in a handshake sort of deal)? Jorts could fill Kurt's or Sheed's role nicely. That's of course assuming one or both do not return for another run...retire champions.

We can't cut James White, or is the fan base that excited to have a Knick rep the dunk contest. How was Machado's defense with Houston? Did he do a good job of staying in front of his man? He couldn't shoot for crap in the few times I saw him.

MaTT - Step away but even if we sign Jorts to the minor league team, any team can sign him from there and own him. I wasn't aware we couldn't sign him for a year - thx. He was actually a pretty decent young big body to have. I was shocked at how well he altered shots, mostly cause he used his body well - arms straight up in the air, nothing fancy.

Big - I think Machado had defensive problems from what I heard, haven't seen him play in the NBA. But damn, he knew how to pass damn well. Not sure on his shooting but I believe you. I just miss having a young guy to watch progress - and one never knows what one can become if given time. He probably won't ever be a better than average defender, but the shot can definitely come along. Hopefully we can get the rights to players at the d-league level so there is still that part of the game to follow. It is fun to do so with the Yankee Minor league system.

I watched all of the Rocket regular season games and a lot of their pre-season games, Machado is not very good. Talked a good game but he is physically at a disadvantage in the NBA every time he steps on the court. He is listed at 6'1" but looks more like 5'11". He has short arms and is not very fast. He also can't guard anybody. I would pass on him.

The player that the Knicks should have signed when the Rockets released him was Livingston.
