I would have to say sheed having even joining the knicks let alone having such a impact.
Kidd and his abilty to still play at a high level
Copeland and his abilty to be a flat out scorer
melo and his maturation and his abilty to lead
JR Smith and his abilty to keep it under control and his overall consistant play
Sheed joinging the knicks and having such a big impact
Mike Woodson Having the team at the top of the EC
The team having such great chemistry on and off the court

JR playing under control and being instrumental to the team's success. Over the summer I said that we should bring him back because of his skill set and his contract was cheap but I had very low expectations of him being a major contributor because of all the lapses. Had absolutely no idea that JR would do a 180 as far as how he approaches the game.

agreed.

My two biggest surprises are JR's offense and Tyson's defense.

Lots of great surprises. I went to the last exhibiton game in Cuse and the team did not look good. Brewer was limping from his knee surgery. I didn't think they would pull it together and start the season off like they did. I had faith in Kurt but he always impresses me when he is on the court.

I have to go with J Kidd. I thought he would contribute but not to the extent he has.

I would have to say Jason Kidd still performing at a very high level.

He could score 0 pts and 0 asts and positively affect the outcome of the game.

Sheed for sure. Me and my friends complained about that signing for weeks until we saw him play. Never been so glad to be wrong...

My second surprise has to be Brewer. I thought he was gonna be a pest on defense and we'd all be counting down the days until we see him and Shump locking up opposing wing players.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Im surprised that a future HOFer like Kidd after showing up in the best shape in years would be more of a surprise than JR playing like an all star off the bench and under control. I was flat out wrong about JR but I knew what Kidd would bring to the table.

Shump says it nicely

"This team is not a team that relies on a certain somebody. As you've seen, we've lost plenty of guys throughout the season and still find ways to win."

We may be old but we can play.

JR SWAGBALLS is biggest surprise, he's dropping buckets like a filthy man,

If JR keeps it cool in second half of season, Knicks are favorites in the EAST!!

I thought he would come in and do the usual stuff, but he's doing so much more,

Kidd is not so much a surprise for me after he crashed his car, because that told me he was still vibrant enough to be partying like a 20 year old, I knew the season would be no problem and he can drop better numbers than in Dallas,

Biggest surprise is that the Knicks are on top of the EC division.

I think everyone felt they would be competitive but I'm pretty sure everyone had Boston has the clear cut favorite...I wasn't impressed with Bostons line up but I wouldn't have imagined such a demanding lead.

“We expect (Carmelo) to make those big shots and big buckets, but lately he has been coming up with big offensive or defensive rebounds and making stops. In the huddles, he has been more vocal and been the guy talking about defense. That is what is impressing me."

JR embracing the second unit role. His ability to calmly take over games, and even hearing people like Spiro comment positively about his shot selection, and the maturity level he's showing later in games.

He's more than just mini-Me-Melo.

The record being so good
Melo's brilliance
Lack of defense. They've regressed.

Guys aren't crediting Isiah with anymore of the teams moves. It's sad because IF the Knicks were under .500, guys would be crediting Isiah with Sheed and a bunch of other moves made this off season. (GREEN FONT) Since we are winning, no one wants to credit IT. You can't blame him for the bad if your not going to credit him for the good (END GREEN FONT)
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
