He's right too. We haven't even reached our full potential either. Scary potential. Like Jason Kidd stated after our 8th or 9th game... This (the regular season) is only a dress dress rehearsal for the postseason.

Shumpert is going to change the entire culture of our defense. It'll be Iman Shumpert and Tyson Chandler leading our defensive charge.

Amar'e Stoudemire hasn't even got into the swing of things.

Last but not least, it cracks me up when N.Y fans throw a temper tantrum due to a first quarter and/or a simple loss especially considering the fact that we're still gelling as a team ala Brewer, Kidd, Rasheed, Kurt, Camby, Prigioni and Copeland weren't even on our Knicks team last season.

Simple minded fans don't understand the big picture. Melo is right though, this deep is fully loaded and the best has yet to come.

You can see Melo's mentality going into the game was to pass the ball and get others involved.

He could have had 8-10 assists in the portland game if players would have his some shots but he has certainly been more willing to pass out the double team

Not just the Blazers game.
Even before the recent growth in assists numbers, it's not like he was selfish.
He creates a ton of opportunities for his teammates to score, it's just that a lot of times they either miss, pass the ball again to another player, or get fouled in order to prevent them from scoring.

It would have been great to have had Shump to lock down Jameer last night. Loved Melo's hustle on defense also.

I know people acknowledged his improvement, and I'm not saying he's our #1 defender, but so far this season Melo has the been the most consistent performer on defense.
Might not get a lot of steals or blocks in the statistics, but he's been really, really impressive on D this year, especialy considering his previous years.

No doubt. I think once Shumpert gets into the swing of things, the likes of Tyson Chandler can really take his defensive game to another level down low.
