It's almost half a season down, can you see Knicks beating Heat in playoffs and making it to the Finals??

I can, Heat have had some bad losses this year, I'm smelling blood maybe they are not so hungry now,

If we make it to the finals, it's anyone's game,

if Detroit could do it, if Dallas could do it,

Why Not Knicks??

I believe
I don't believe

the ceiling for this team is very high if:

Amare returns to form and integrates with Carmelo in the starting unit.

And we go into playoffs with a healthy backcourt.

Naturally every team is exposed if injured but I can only believe with Amare being Amare and plays decent defense.

they aren't the Heat, they are meat and the Knicks will be eating well
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I don't believe in this team, hopefully they can change my mind. It seems they have the same syndrome as the Giants, they tend to lose focus and lose to poor teams. And the lack of fight vs teams they had lost to previously like Houston and Bulls sends a red flag. I ain't ready to sing their praises just yet. After this victory over the Spurs I want to see if the can continue the effort on the defensive side and not lose focus for rest of the season.

If the Knicks want to beat the heat and who ever comes out of the west they are going to need the best record. That should be the goal.

I believe they can go deep in the playoffs but part of the reason for their ups and downs IMO is due to the rotation being in flux mostly because of injuries. Once there is a more stable rotation and Stat hopefully finds his groove, we should be ok.

Pretty much every team bar OKC and the Clippers can attribute some of (or in some cases most of) the blame for losses to injuries, however that's exactly what I'm going with when talking about the Knicks.

Amare has just played his 2nd game of the season, still rusty, Shumpert is yet to step on the floor, Carmelo has been out for quite a lot of games percentage wise this year (he's been getting banged up left and right), Sheed has been out for quite a while now as well, Felton is out for 4-6 weeks, then you also have veterans like Kidd, Camby and Thomas that have all missed quite a lot of games in between them as well, heck even Novak was out for a game or two.

I mean ask anybody, even with a team as deep as the one the Knicks have you will struggle with consistently having to deal with injuries.
And it's not just because we're the oldest team in the NBA, a lot of (and the most important injuries) have happened to younger guys, guys who wouldn't be the first you'd associate with missing a game through injuries.

And ofcourse Woodson and the whole team have to account for their mistakes on the floor as well. They seemed to have lost focus on what got them that great winning streak to start the season off with.

The San Antonio game was great to watch, especially since every single player gave it their all on defense, they seemed to have woken up and realised how games should be played.
If they just keep focus they can do it, I personaly am a believer :).

Well, I'm on record saying this team reminds me of the 90's team, with the mix of defensive and offensive play makers. So obviously I believe. But I also agree that once you start believing, they will let you down.

It's almost embarrassing how bad they have looked against average teams lately.

Lets hope we can have a healthly Camby, Wallace or both....I believe they are the key players on this team, since they are the best low post defenders we have. Shump is our best perimeter defender as well, so he's a huge key when talking about getting pass Miami, in route to the NBA finals.

We will need some luck on our side. The good thing is that we have a real coach that doesn't try to run his players into the ground, and hopefully save them for the playoffs....Unlike MDA....Who plays Steve Nash for 40 minutes in this first two games back from surgery! The Lakers will loose in the first round, if MDA is still the coach. But back to the Knicks.....

I BELIEVE........

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

I 100% believe this team can win it all. Easy as a Knicks fan to look at 10 years of losing and become afraid to put your heart and sould back with them but this team is not THOSE teams. The only team standing in our way in the East is the Heat. We take them out we can win it all.

I agree, and that's why the two wins against the Heat this season are so important, because the wins established a history in the players' minds, they now know for certain that they can beat the Heat, so when the playoffs come around they can build on that instead of just going in there like sheep to the wolves, there is a history in their minds, they aren't going in and saying "oh, we can probably beat them if we play hard", no, now it's "we got em, and we got em good already, let's do it again!"

That's really what gives me a lot of hope and that's why I Believe too
