If he can get away with this move regularly, he'll be unstoppable in the paint!

He can get into the paint with ease still. If he can stop and pop that, it would give him a bail-out option when his path to the basket gets cut off. Right now he has no such move in his repertoire.

I think Stat's got that move in his repetoire!

When he gets into the paint ans a defender cuts off his path to the basket he used to,most of the time, get called for a charge. Now that he is Dream Shaking on defenders he might not need to use this move. But it would still be nice to learn. Problem is is difficult for a big man to stop so suddenly and pop. Amare is a PF/C.

Amare has been out all year. Only way to get in game shape is by playing the actual games (you guys should know this). Once he gets back into full game shape he should be ok. Was good to see him actually trying on defense.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Get away with that double dribble? Am I the only one that saw that?

Maybe that's why he got away with the move, because he's not allowed to dribble again after picking up his first dribble.

Maybe I should have put "offensive" in quotations.

Not everyone saw the double dribble even though it was like 4 seconds between bounces.

Oh damn. Even the announcers did not see it.

I saw it before I read anyones response, and the announcers notices it but were so shock at the blatant miss call they had to wonder if they saws right...I think the reasons the ref miss it was because of the horrible defense..

Hilarious! He couldn't even stop laughing

With Amir Johnson and Ed Davis, it would be great to get a solid role player like them that can be legit PF's and play Center to team up with our Center's
They have great size/length/speed/athleticism to play both positions and would fit very nicely with our bigs to change tempos

I wouldn't laugh at that point if I'm Amir Johnson, it causes bad blood with the refs, because basically you're calling their mistake out in front of the entire planet,

he should have kept a straight face and been cool about it, it's a much better look

subtle things like this is what win you favor with refs over the long term, you have to respect their calls and you're more likely to get clean treatment later

And this is why:

If you laugh, which is to draw attention to the ref mistake, the ref will later on be more likely to call you strictly so that he can avoid being put on the spotlight for a mistake call, the ref will essentially start calling fouls against you with a safety factor, because now he is thinking there is less room for error

If you play it cool, then he won't stress messing up on a call with you, the ref will be generally more at ease when deciding if he will call something on you or when someone fouls you

At least this is how it works in rec league, but I work on the assumption that NBA refs and players are humans too and they should basically react the same way,

Watching the magic game, Stat needs an up and under move. He does a good job of getting around his defender with the spin move he's added, but defenders are able to recover and block his shot because he has no lift. Maybe Stat will do better when he's closer to 100 percent but it still wouldn't hurt to add that move to his arsenal.
