In the playoffs the rotation and playing time shrink for the entire Bench. In a must win game --- Who and How many guys do you play ? How would you handle the minutes for our deep team?

Felton/Kidd
JR/Shump
Novack
Melo/Stat
Chandler/Sheed

That is 9 guys --- looks like Brewer may not even play in that type of a game unless you play him over Novack to play defense.?

Camby/Thomas/Prigioni/Copeland/White don't see the floor ?

What if you had to add a 10th guy--- who would you add or do you only play 8 guys in a Game 7 ?

Intersting when you really start to look at how deep our team is...Lets see your Game 7 rotation

Pending Stat's and Shump's return and adaptation to our play, this would be my rotation:

PG- Felton / Kidd

SG- Shump / J.R.

SF- Melo / Novak

PF- Stat / Wallace

C- Chandler / (Camby)

Use rotation wisely:

1. Keep starting Felton but play Kidd in the 4th quarter if game is close and Felton is in brick mode.

2. Keep J.R. in the bench because he is killing it from it. Don't mess with his amazing season so far. Shump can play SF in a small lineup.

3. Melo starts at 3 but will move to 4 during the game, either spelling Amar'e or in small lineups.

4. Novak has been invisible lately, but if Woodson can find a way to involve it on offense again, he should because his 3pt shooting should be invaluable come playoff time. He needs to be in the zone and ready come playoff time.

5. Stat starts at 4 if he proves once he comes back that he can mesh with this unit. True, Melo will suffer a lil because he has been thriving at the 4, but he also needs a second option in this offense, which Stat is. J.R. has been great, but he is best as a Harden, 3rd option X-Factor.

6. A healthy Wallace brings defense and 3pt shooting so that triumphs anybody else. Can also play C.

7. Stat can play C in a small lineup with Melo at 4 while Chandler rests.

8. If going to a 10 man rotation, needed especially against teams with size, a healthy Camby is the way to go.

9. If needed to go on an 8th man rotation, I'd check on the best recent performer between Wallace and Novak. If Novak disappears like he has lately, the decision is made easier. If both are playing well, I'd rather keep 9-man rotation with Novak playing few minutes for spot shooting purposes.

I go with a starting 5 of :

Felton
Shump
Melo
Stat
Chandler

JR gets about 30 min off the bench
Kidd about 15-20
Sheed about 10
Novack about 8
Camby about 5

The last 5 min of game :

Kidd
JR
Melo
Stat -- only if he is playing defense and boxing out//Another Big Rebounder if he isn't

Depends on the flow of the game in the 4th quarter and the opponent. Shump when you need D. JR when you need offense.

If Shumps struggles this year coming off surgery than JR gets the 4th quarter because he also defends well

One of the funniest lines of e night when breen asked Cavan gundy about melo playing the 4 and he responded that he was currently scoring playing the 3 as Kurt Thomas was playing the 4.

Don't believe the hype people.

Melo will be the same and will be the 3, amare takes Kurt's minutes, starting, and the fill in is Kidd, Felton and chandler the starting 5
Felton/ Kidd / prigs
Shump / jr / brewer
Melo/ Novak
Amare / sheed
Chandler / Camby

Trust me.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

So will Amare. Im not a big fan of playing JR, Melo and Amare together. Getting Melo and Amare shots is hard enough.ields That is why you never saw it last year but saw Fields at the 2 instead. JR is better this year but chemistry and balance is too important

This nice job! I'm sure Woodson having a better handle on the team than anyone agrees. Thats is the rotation the Knicks will go to war with. Can't wait to see it in action!

Also, Novak / Sheed / Camby depends on who is helping and what's needed.

My ideal tight 8 man game 7 rotation is heavy :
Felton, Kidd, jr, amare, stat, chandler, shump, Novak

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

JR Smith has earned the right to play in crunch time.

Chandler/Amare
Melo
JR Smith
Shumpert
