You guys are funny.
Anyway, let me try once more and this will be the last time I'll bring it up. I promise. I won't post anything until playoff time, and that's if the team gets in without Allan.
Nothing bad happened to me, and I'm not bitter about Frank, despite how the posts may read to some. TRU is part right. I despise communism. I'm against statism. I don't believe people are all equal nor should they be forced to be equal, as everyone's potential is different. That's not saying people shouldn't be held to the same standard. Allow me to explain:
If two guys are gunning for the same job, and one guy was raised in an orphanage and struggled for everything and the other comes from power and money, the guy who gets the job is ... the one who is best suited for it based on skills and performance. Their life stories are irrelevant. I guess that makes me Un-American. To be an American, I guess I'm either supposed to give the job to the orphan because he's had a tough life, or to the rich guy because he's got friends in high places or because he must be rich because he's smarter than the orphan. Yeah, I'm just like my good buddy Rush "Destroy the Liberals" Limbaugh or Karl "Workers Paradise" Marx. Uh-Huh, you got me. You so smart.
I simply asked martin what's up with FWill. He produced a quote that FWill said he didn't think he could play ball the rest of the season, because he was too sad about his mother dying. I fully sympathize with him for feeling bad, as I've gone through the same thing, and I explained that, but I do not agree that he should get to take the rest of the season off, paid mind you, just because he's heartbroken. And that's IF the reason is because of his mother. Like I said, if it's because he's still physically hurt, fine. If it's because Wilkens or Thomas wants him to stay on the IR, fine. I apologize to Frank Williams if I offended him by implying he was not playing because he's sad, if that isn't the case. But if, IF, it was my team, which admittedly it is NOT, and the reason was because of his mother, I would give him a stern talking to about it, then get him some psychiatric help while he takes paid leave. If he still doesn't want to play (this is a scenario, mind you, not saying it's really the reason) then I would suspend him without pay or waive him. I would not, as a businessperson, pay someone not to work who has had ample time to grieve. Life goes on, and time stops for no one. Funny how fishy wants to turn my own beliefs back at me, as though I wasn't saying that in the first place. Life isn't fair? No duh, which is why we have to fight for fairness. Since when is fairness part of Communism OR ultra-conservativism? Both are anti-fairness. But I guess I was wrong. Fighting for fairness, given that life is by nature unfair, is wrong. I guess we should accept cancer and earthquakes, as we puny humans are no match for Mother Nature. My mistake.
And yes, in a corporation, like the one I work for, people are given ample time to grieve. If they need more time, they can use their sick days. More time? Then it's time to talk about what they want to do with their lives, because, as a businessperson, I cannot afford to let them grieve forever. I'm a Capitalist. With a big "C". It has its drawbacks, but it is a better economic system than Socialism.
Okay? Do we all get it now?
Simrud. Yes, it would be nice if we could give the guy as much time as he wants, and IF that's the situation with Frank, it's Dolan's investment. I think it sends the wrong message to the other players and the fans, and it hurts the team. That's just mean bitter old ultra right-wing commie-pinko Un-American character assassin me. It must be because I didn't get enough hugs or because my sister touched me funny, I can't remember which.
See ya'.

go with what he said... I came off too harshly, there is something to be said for being subtle.
Nah, fish. For a $2 psychoanalysis of someone you don't know, I think you did a stellar job.
As for D&R's "communist" rhetoric, I think he's just the opposite-- his opinions are way towards the ultra-conservative right. "Fighting the battle against those who get special treatment" sounds alot more like Rush Limbaugh than Karl Marx.
Either way, it's patently un-American. But he's entitled to voice his opinion.
