NYKMentality - That was my favorite game of last season. I was at MSG for it. Fantastic game. Not only did Melo EXPLODE, but my boy Shump had 15 points, 9 boards, 6 assists, and FOUR STEALS. I miss him, man. Still think the tech he got for "taunting" Rip after that awesome dunk was ridiculous.

Our opening day win against the Celtics along with our win against the Lakers when Lin went off both rank up there (for myself personally) but that Chicago game was hands down my favorite. One of Melo's greatest all-time performances as well. 43 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, only 2 turnovers along with a game tying 3 which foreced overtime followed by a game winning 3 while being down two. Chicago's game was the definition of Melo's clutch gene. Only the all-time greats are born with it; and LeBron's wasn't born with a clutch gene. Amazing all-world talent? Yes. Clutch gene? Nope. And I agree with Shumpert, kid played his heart out. When healthy Shump's a menace to opposing teams. |

I took my brother to that game and it's, by far, the best game in any sport I've seen in person Now the joy of my world is in Zion
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come

Still think the tech he got for "taunting" Rip after that awesome dunk was ridiculous. I think the problem with LeBron and the "clutch gene" is that he's not a good enough outside shooter for it. Most guys who hit in the clutch and have this so-called gene also happen to have good jumpers. If he had a better j + more confidence in it, he would magically have this "gene", methinks. Of course, if LeBron had a jumper like Melo or Kobe or Durant, he probably would be the GOAT. He does so many things well, it would be unfair if he had that, too. (After typing the above, I read that Bron is shooting 43% from three this year! Uh oh...somebody benefited from working out with Kevin Durant in the off-season...*shakes fist in general direction of Oklahoma*) |

Damn it, why do I have to be so far away? :D
Don't get me wrong I love the place that I live in and I wouldn't trade it in for anything, but I honestly wish there was someway I was closer so I could actually go watch a game live. I'm going to though, whether it be this year or next I'm going on a trip and you can bet your ass I'm going to MSG.

OGkush - I really hope you make it to MSG. I'm not going back til Feb vs the Clippers (which should be an awesome game - praying like crazy Shump is back by then). The drinks and food are insanely priced, so be prepared to spend a little $$ while there!
On topic: The Bulls play a super-slow down style of basketball and are the best defensive team in the league. They play gritty and somewhat ugly and are extremely well-coached. They also rebound the ball very well. Playing them gives us a taste of what we'll see in the playoffs; we've got to figure out a way to get our three point shooters open amidst the stifling Bulls D. This is the kind of game in which I miss Amar'e the most; we need every little bit of scoring we can get against them. The Bulls and the T'Wolves are the two teams I think the media is sleeping on the most. When the Bulls get Rose back, even a Rose at 75%, they'll be scary. The T'Wolves, who just knocked off OKC last night, are flat out good. Pekovic can BALL. We've got some tough games ahead prior to the Laker game on Xmas. |

The Knicks -6 over Chicago and the Hawks -2 over the 76ers. Only a $193.00 payout, but I'll take it. I usually only bet on the Knicks. 8-1 with them this year. They've convered 8 of the 9 times I've picked them but damn, as the wins keep coming the lines keep going up. Might have to start riding with a team such as Atlanta moving forward. I really like those guys. |

I'll be in section 107 tonight. Center court, close to the floor.
If anyone ever wanted to be jealous of me, tonight might be your best and only chance. |

The division is kind of weak, but first place without Rose, still among the NBA's elite on defense. Very well coached. That said, the Knicks should be able to pull this out with Melo. Still bummed I missed the Nets game, so hopefully Melo picks up right where he left off. Knicks 102-92 |
