Felton,
Kidd, Brewer, Carmelo and Chandler
versus
Priggi Smalls, JR, Novak or Cope, Amar'e and Sheed.
Defensively, Sheed and (a motivated) Amar'e present problems. Copeland could be the weak link but that could be due to lack of NBA experience more than desire or lateral quickness. Novak is rebounding the ball better and JR has elevated his defense to the point he is barely recognizable to his old buddies. Prigioni will get two steals on cunning and timing, the rest of the time he fights hard to get over picks.
Offensively, JR and Pablo can both be trusted with the rock. The more JR handles the ball, the more he gains confidence to allow the play to develop. His ability to improvise when other options have been exhausted is made more lethal with his improved decision making under pressure. Prigioni and Amar'e will be a dangerous picking and rolling duo. Sheed will bust an unexpected three and can drop step an old school move down low.
Our reserves create some difficult matchups. Even for us. And we are good.
