i am very skeptical about how the knicks handle things and its been like that for years. it is strange that they have been awfully quiet about how melo is doing and just say its day to day. as a matter of fact they through a "red herring" by all of a suddent giving updates on amare and shumpert. i am worried that this injury is worse than they let on. anyone else worried about this behavior?

I don't know how bad Melo's ankle is, but you can bet Bush and big oil are behind it somehow.

It's always a worry. Also it's not just his ankle, but his knee and hip too. Hopefully it clears up soon, though it always seems like when Amar'e is injured, Melo is okay and vice versa.

Yea unfortunately I'm worried about it too. Even if it's not too serious, these kind of things can linger and throw you off. He was injured most of the season last year, and you saw the difference once he finally got healthy in March/April. But we saw last night how bad we can be without him. Hopefully he comes back soon at 100%.

I think people are exaggerating. The team averaged 102.9 PPG with Melo and 99.0 without him, and some of that 4 point difference is just due to Felton being an idiot when Melo is out.

I think that most Knicks fans are worried about Melo's injury and subsequent absence... whether they admit it or not. Melo is our #1 guy.

Folks will feel better when Melo is back on the floor again. Still hoping that will be tomorrow, and the veil of mystery can finally be lifted.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I'm all for sacrificing December games, if it means Melo will be healthy for the long term. Bigger picture, fellas.

I think this is another case of you just looking at numbers and not watching the game and being able to see the difference in the team when they have Melo and when they don't. I think the Bulls game and last nights game without Melo are more accurate representations of what they are then the Miami game without Melo.

Just saw that Melo is practicing with the team. Also, Copeland and White were sent to the D-League, but that may just be to have some NBA talent to play with STAT.

Yep, that is exactly what it is.

Amar'e, Copeland and James White have been assigned to D-League so they can practice with Erie. They will be called back up tomorrow.

Along with the fact that they can barely beat a weak Cleveland team at home and eventually suffer a bad loss at home without him.

But besides that, your statistical anaysis is spot on.

Yeah, the numbers always beat the eye test.

Knicks are the worst when it comes to injuries. First it was a slight ankle sprain then it was a slight ankle sprain with sore knee and hip. Now its a badly bruised ankle.

The good thing is that he himself said that his knee and hip are fine. His ankle is bruised, which is best case scenario after watching that fall. Him missing games sucks any way you slice it, but if he plays on that ankle at 50% he's going to injure it worse. I think he'll sit tomorrow and be back Friday or Sunday at the latest.

I watched every minute of the game yesterday. I'm not saying Melo hurts the team even if the winning % has been higher without him. I do think this roster needs him but not as badly as most here think it does.

The main issues with Huston is our inability to guard Lin/Harden duo and any other fast and skeeled guards.
Melo can compensate this by scoring on the other end but will not help to solve the main issues we have with our slow points and luck of shortblocking and rebounding inside.
