It's a big week for our knicks

houston
nets
bulls
twolves
@lakers
@suns

Im not sure will see amare being that we play every other day with the lakers and suns a back to back

I don't see to any chances to practice unless it's this wk..but with so many vets it' hard to see woody practicing after playing the night before.

would definitely like us to win the 1st 4 games (stay undefeated at home), and would like to see amare make is comeback on xmas or the next day against his old team and drop 20 and 10..Is that asking to much?

20 and 10 in his debut? Yes, that's a bit much to ask. He'll likely be eased in slowly and will be mighty rusty for a bit.

I assume he's fairly close, given the limited footage I've seen of him working out. Xmas would be nice, but who knows when he'll be back. No need to rush him in. Even if he comes back after New Year's, he'd still have nearly 4 months till the playoffs.

It's hard to believe that as interesting as the Knicks have been so far, things are just getting started, because integrating Shumpert and Amare into the mix will be mighty intriguing.

Christmas is about a week away, Amare will have to be cleared tomorrow to get a week of practice and walk throughs in.

I think Amare will be back against Portland at home in the new year.

Nice thread Knicks1248, although I've personally been focused on our next four games. That's when we'll complete our six game home stand. The longest home stand of our season. During our next four home games I say we continue to protect our home court advantage against the likes of Houston, Brooklyn, Chicago and Minny. A Madison Square Garden home court advantage that's became second to none. 21-1 during our 22 regular season home games under coach Woodson. 10-0 here in 2012-2013.

Over the next 4 games we're getting a Houston Rockets team who's only 11-12 overall (after losing tonight). We're also getting these guys on the tail end of a back to back. They're only 2-7 on the road to begin with. Right after Houston we'll then introduce a struggling Nets team who's only 13-10 overall (after losing 6 of their last 8 games) to Madison Square Garden. They've put up a 5-5 road record. Can't wait. Then we'll host the Bulls during a revenge game. This to me looks to be our toughest matchup during our next 4 games, just because of the way Chicago's been playing. They have a great head coach, and it's paying off without their floor leader in Rose. Strong coaching without question. They also feature a top of the line defense and rebounding team (once again). They're only 13-9 overall but they've won 7 of their last 9 ball games. Impressive to say the least being without their franchise MVP in Rose. Chicago's also put up a solid 6-3 road record but this time I like our chances while we feature Carmelo Anthony during our rematch. Then we close out our 6 game home stand at hopefully 22-5 overall against the Wolves at home..

When looking at our schedule heading into our matchup with the Lakers, I just seen an opportunity. An opportunity to not only start our longest win streak of the season but to also distance ourselves from potential competition. As of right now we've gone 2-0 with four games remaining. Two games up on Miami for the East. 4 1/2 games up on Chicago for the East. 5 games up on Boston and another 6 games up on Brookln for our Atlantic Division. Heading into this current home stretch I asked myself, what if this Knicks team could actually fight hard for a perfect 6-0 home stand? That would (potentially) put us on an 8 game win streak while being 22-5 heading into our Christmas day matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers; which is where we start our three game road trip against the Lakers, Phoenix and Sacramento. These next four games are what's on my mind as a fan. Lin, Harden, Asik and the Rockets are on deck.

Not to get ahead of myself, but can you imagine our fan base with our team and franchise being 22 and 5 while heading into our 3:00 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day? A Nationally televised game at that? With millions upon millions of viewers? Well, we're four (consecutive) wins away from that Christmas day broadcast becoming and/or being all about our Knicks of New York. For 7 hours too. Two hours heading into the game during pregame shows. 3 hours of Knicks basketball talk during the game followed by two hours of (hopefully) Knicks talk during postgame shows.

Why could the Knicks become the Knicks in which stole Christmas? Because we could potentially be playing for a share of franchise history (regular season wise) come Christmas day. Christmas day has the potential to become a day in which our Knicks of 2012-2013 surpassed the 1972-1973 Knicks for the second strongest start in franchise history at (hopefully) 23-5 overall. Knicks of 72-73 started off 22-6 after 28 games. A win against the Lakers would then put our current team one step closer to franchise history in regards to our strongest start in franchise history. Only behind those Knicks of 1969-1970; who were at 25-3 after 28 games.

Sorry for the long wided post on something as simple as our next 4/5 games. But these are the types of threads I enjoy. The chance to look at our up coming schedule, think back on the history of our franchise, and envision an XMas in which could become a day in which we'll never forget as a fan base. Five consecutive wins away from our second strongest 28 game start in franchise history (and we've been around since 1946).

Amare will be giving us all a Christmas present.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Only the Lakers game looks like it could slip away.

Knicks should win the rest.

Nothing says "Merry Christmas, peace and good will on earth" like 7 hours of knick basketball!

Woody said he hopes Amar'e is cleared for practice tomorrow, but the key is in how he responds to it afterwards. Hopefully no setbacks! We're pretty banged up, we need to start getting players back!

I agree with your entire post, i even took the time to read it although it was an essay.

The laker game is definitely questionable, and playing mini at home won't be a cake walk, as a matter of fact despite the nets, bulls and rockets record, I really don't think any of these games are a walk in the park except for sac which is why I left them off the list..

we beat the bobcats by 2 or 3 points, while everybody else has blown them out..

I also have another question, why is it that AMARE (when injured) never sits on the bench with his teammates NEVER, despite the injury?

So far we were are 3-2 in our home stand with losses to Houston and the Bulls, teams that have now beaten us twice in similar fashion, not exactly elite status...Pretty soon the injury status will start to be our excuse.

We're not elite but we've been winning. We have a shot at becoming elite if Amar'e and Shump can come back and contribute. We also get a lot more rest and practice time in January and February, so we can work on getting our defense back and refining our game. Until then, we just need to keep going as best we can- I'm not expecting this team to look elite for a while.

We've shown signs. All of our losses except the first Brooklyn one have been the same. Horrible defense, no ball movement, terrible PG play. But there's more proof of us being a great team then a middle of the pack one.

I think Shumpert and STAT are going to make this team the best and deepest in the east. All we need is to stay healthy. Lets not discount that Sheed and Camby have both missed a lot of time. Those are big pieces of our interior defense, for better or worse.
