The only reasonable commentating came from Marv and lets face it, he was just going through the motions as his mind was already focused on the hookers he was going to bite in drag later that night. Marv Albert also did a reasonable job.

I used to get a kick out of Barkley, but he's nothing more than an uber donkey. He doenst call it like he sees it because he sees knowing and knows nothing about the team.

Felton is attacking the basket, Chandler is throwing down alley oops and Melo is balancing his sick shooting with unstoppable drives to the basket.
Barkey: The Knicks are going to prone to dry spells because all they do is shoot jumpers

Knicks are up 18 points and treating the Lakers like a YMCA team which is what they look like.
Barkley: Knicks are getting killed on the boards

Even long time Knick hate Kerr was pretty quiet because its hard to follow that kind of constipation of the brain and diarrhea of the mouth with any viable commentary.

Things good in Knick land right now.

Barkley was harping from his notes that the knicks are not a high rebounding team and as such, won't go all the way.

Knicks up by 15-18 and everytime they did not get a rebound he would go on this.

Forget his message, its just his delivery and redundant nature as the color man of the broadcast. It just did not flow.

Was this his first time doing it for a full game? If so, then he might get better.

I like charles and he is funny. But in his role last nite he was more annoying!

Barkley seems to be last one to realize that the game has changed. It's not the 90's anymore. Its a drive-n kick league with some PNR mixed in for good measure. Kerr did a good job of pointing out that the Mavs, and Thunder, the last 2 reps from the west in the finals, took a ton of jumpers aswell. The Knicks have been successful shooting jumpers because most of them are wide-open looks off good ball movement.

Interesting stat from the TNT crew last night. Knicks have made more 3's than they have turned the ball over. If that continues, it'll be the first time in history that has been done.

The point was made that the 3s the team takes are mostly very good looks.

studio guys did good with that. Kenny Smith was solid. IF you dont watch the Knicks you think this shooting cant be sustained, but Smith actually explained WHY it would and could be sustained. That was good stuff.

Hey- its 20 games in so clearly the shooting can be sustained!

But that has been my one hesitancy about this team- that at some point, the shooting will give out.

Now- maybe it might just be a rough patch- and who knows if they can get these kind of open looks in the play offs when things get more physical and defenses tighten.

Hahahahaha you're ruthless!

I can't remember exactly what the point was but toward the end of the game Kerr called Charles out on something (was it the small ball?) and Barkley sort of scrambled for an answer. Don't really understand this. Even with teams/players I dont particularly like, I have no problem acknowledging when they do well.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

^^^ if they called it like they saw it they would have been better. Knicks were more physical. Smarter. Better. Had a plan and were relentless. When Lakers would creep back a bit we came up with a big shot when needed.

Funny.. one minute Barkley says all the KNicks do is take jumpers. Then he's pissed because the Lakers "give up a layup anytime the Knicks want one"

Soo... which is it?

I still fail to understand why some get so heated at Charles Barkley's commentary.

It's Charles Barkley.

I think Steve Kerr has said a lot of good things about our team this year. He said our chemistry and ball movement are terrific.

yeah, Kenny Smith did a good job of showing that. Greg Anthony did the same thing on Gametime the day before. Obviously Charles doesn't pay any attention to his peers

Why should he? Everytime he looks at Kenny, all he sees are the rings.

Barkley's a mildly entertaining stooge who has a chip on his shoulder about never winning a trophy. He's much better at commercials and idiotic social commentary.

He's the Ewing of the NBA broadcast world. A simmering, not terribly intelligent, angry man with ring constipation.

Barkely is no dumb ass but he definitely seems to be in some lala land whenever the Knicks come up. "The Knicks don't rebound and they take many bad shots." Yet he wises up when the topic switches elsewhere. It's weird.

Barkley really is myopic when it comes to Knicks. Either that or just plain ignorant:

-All Knicks do is shoot 3s
-Nets are best team in New York
-JR Smith is a starter
-Iman Shumpert doesn't play D
-You can't win a Championship shooting a bunch of 3s

Only thing he was kinda spot on about is the rebounding, which will no doubt improve a bit with Amare and Shumpert.

He says it's not personal, but it sure comes across that way.

hah, good post. Your right, he's not there for insightful analysis. Never really thought about it like that so, it should be easier to ignore this buffoon.

another indication this forum has horribly declined. Nobody picked up on this. Clearly people's heads are so far up MElo's ass they cant see past what he's had for breakfast. This was some funny sh!t.
