I'm sure a lot of people remember a few years ago when Kobe Bryant walked in our house, had the easiest 61 point game ever and was getting MVP chants.

Ugh.

Now that we have our own superstar who can run the table - do you think he can give the scoring record back to a Knick?

Go.

Yes, if anyone can do it it's Carmelo Anthony.

For example, Melo put up 45 points during only 24 shot attempts tonight. Give Melo 35 shot attempts and he'll get it done with hopefully a win.

But then again, Melo's career high is 50 points back in 2009 (against our Knicks). Also dropped 50 against the Rockets. If Melo's ever to drop 61 points here in the Garden? I believe it'll have to be during a game in which Melo puts up 18-20 points during the 1st quarter... and really goes for the record from there.

But yea, I don't really care about these types of records; just thankful we're currently featuring a great talent during his prime years in Melo. By far the greatest Knick we've seen since Patrick Ewing (key word being 'since').

ok - what exactly are you referring to? I understood you to say that Melo would set the record for most career points- impossible as Patrick has some 24k as a Knick, and Melo would have to play to 50 to have any chance.

Looks like you mean to have him lead the NBA in per game average? Also unlikely- but perhaps more possible.

With all due respect, if you read his actual post you'd see where he was talking about MSG's single game scoring record (Kobe).

I guess it depends on him staying hot, getting in a groove like he was in at the Olympics, and the opponent not rolling over. Visitors kind of have an advantage for the scoring record... because it's MSG, they get to keep bombing away regardless of how much fight the Knicks have. For the home guys, if they kick someone's ass the second unit goes in

I don't think he can do it, not because he can't, but because teams would send hard double and triple teams at him if he was on fire like that making someone else kill them.

The fact that Kobe got all of those MVP chants, Reggie Miller got a standing ovation and LeBron used to get standing ovations still makes me want to vomit... yet that's how bad the times were in Knicks land.

I thought you meant outscoring Ewing's career number. Carmelo's not going to live that long.

62 points, yeah, that's doable. Bring me the head of a Raptor! Deliver unto me a Piston for sport!

Why not 101 points? Was Hershey, PA considered a home game for us? Probably not.
