Well at least that's what the stats say, Kidd is shooting 50% from downtown.

With multiple 3 pt shooters on the team , Jason seems to have the most timely 3's on the team that usually lead to a momentum change for the Knicks. He's a 35% 3pt shooter for his career.

What's his secret.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Old people usually get better jump shots because the years beat them into you until you can't miss

Kidd came in couldn't shoot, now he's old he's knocking down threes and all sorts of crazy ****, that's the only way the old timers can stay on the court, with the jumpshot, he knows that's how he's gonna survive and play in the league for a long time, so he's out there shooting threes while the young kids are over there playing their video games. Think about it.

not so secret at all. Kidd has been a good 3pt shooter for a while now. He went from not being able to hit them EXCEPT in clutch moment. Then, preDallas, he pretty much became a knock down shooter from the arc.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

If you watch his release it's basically a set shot with no lift. The only time he jumps is when he's trying to draw a foul. His previous highest percentage from downtown was 46% in his 1st year of the second stint with Dallas.

It's amazing. Coming out of Cal he couldn't shoot a lick, not even free throws. To see him at this stage of his career now leading the league in 3% is pretty incredible.

Kudos to you Kidd, for working tirelessly on your weaknesses to make it a strength.

Deep down, I still hate him for his NJ days, but appreciate what he's giving NY in his last go around. Maybe we can make him assistant coach when he retires.

This isn't something that Kidd just learned (how to shoot beyond the arc). Lets not forget, that Jason Kidd ranks 3rd all-time in 3 pointers made. Only behind both Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. 1,906 career 3's; the Kidd can drain the deep ball.

Jason is tied for 2nd with Matt(the red rocket) Bonner at 50% , OJ Mayo leads the association shooting 53% in 3's.

That's pretty insane for Mayo, didn't know that. 53% for a guy that's never shot above 40% for his career in 3s.

If you notice both of those guys are all-pro shooting guards.

Maybe the all teams Jason has played with always had high flyers and great scoring threats who demanded double teams that when the ball was swung back to him he was always open.

This just in: Kidd shoots better at threes in order to make those around Melo better. Or something to that effect.

Kidd said in one of the postgames that he always has been able to shoot threes, and mentioned pointedly that he used to have to remind St. Dirk of that fact continually.

Gun to your head, a miss pulls the trigger, you really want Kidd shooting the 3 rather than Novak?

Kidd 2010 - 2013 244 of 677 .360
Novak 2010 - 2013 206 of 438 .470

I know there's just got to be some sort of statistical analysis that invalidates these.

Looks like with Mayo he found a new dedication on working on his shot with a new team.
Kidd's previous high was after he left NJ Nets to start his second time around with the Nets.

Could be something to it when a good player has a new address, his work ethic improves.

Yup, teams definitely dared Kidd to shoot, and he has made them pay over his long career.

Having scorers like Nowitzki, Carter, Mashburn, Jimmy Jackson, Kevin Johnson, Michael Finley, Marion, etc..the ball swings his way and he's buried it.

Yeah, I always think of him as a bad shooter because of his repuation back in his hey day- used to be his only weakness. I was suprised to hear he became a good shooter while watching a Dallas game a year or two ago.

The quick answer:
All Time Leaders: Three Point Field Goals Made
Player 3FGA 3FG% 3FGM
1. Ray Allen 6,864 .401 2,754
2. Reggie Miller 6,486 .395 2,560
3. Jason Kidd 5,440 .350 1,906

Our ball movements been good around the perimeter. We're taking a lot of 3's, but we're taking a lot of open 3's.

Looking into the blackest of the black abyss that is the Beard of Woodson you see there are infinate possibilities when you embrace the brotherhood of man and your surrogate knick father loves you.

The Hybrid offense Woodson uses when we go uptempo with the excellent Naismath/Holzman/MDA infused ballmovement cooperative provides quality open looks.

Kidd does not jump because he is about the quick release.

Exactly. if we are open for the 3 we have to take them

The Answer...

Dave Hopla!

When a career 26% 3 pt shooter like Ronnie Brewer shoots 38% on the season so far, it's gotta be the shooting coach.

Why is Jason Kidd is our best 3 pt shooter ?
