If we win it all, I think Brewer will be back. He likes NY and likes the team. He'll come back for a JR-esque discount I think.

He didn't take less money, nobody offered him a contract more than the 1-year minimum.

Fables. The belief a man turned down 2-3 million dollars to play in NY.

I doubt it. Shumpert is younger and more explosive at this point.

Brewer will get a Fields type deal if he keeps up his shooting.

Personally, I'm not as impressed as the rest of you. If he goes, he goes. We'll find another glue guy.

Then we need to match that offer for Brewer.

We won't be able to, he's an unrestricted free agent after the season. The most we'd be able to offer is the taxpayer MLE which is around $3M/year.

Not worried about Brewer leaving, after all he came here literally for free.

I could see Brewer doing 10 million for 3 years.

If thats the case then the Knicks have a shot. I don't see him getting more than $3-4 elsewhere

Why would the Knicks pay him more than the minimum when we have Shumpert?

Healthy Shumpert equals no use for Brewer.

So could I. I could also see another team offering a contract starting at around $4M/year to price us out of the market.

Healthy Shumpert equals no use for Brewer.

Because Brewer can guard threes allowing Shump to guard the quicker pgs or Sgs. He struggled against size i.e. Paul Peirce, Lebron(given), and Joe Johnson. Also, we still have not seen a healthy Brewer yet.
