Next Man Up (yes, we are deep)

Cope and Prigioni bonded for a reason during the preseason. Cope is a a-gile, mo-bile and he is a big target. Quarterbacks like big targets. They adore guys who know what to do with the ball once they catch it. Copeland is that kinda guy. His ability to handle the basketball in traffic is a great asset. He bouncy enough to rise over the rim without straining and his body is one big shock absorber when he gets hit.

Copeland’s job is to keep the offense flowing with the second team. He succeeded Sunday against the Suns, hitting 4-of-5 attempts, including a monster put-back dunk. In one possession after a time out, the Knicks drew up a pick-and-roll to Copeland, although Felton was unable to find his teammate for a shot attempt. What was impressive about play was that Anthony had just entered the game and Woodson decided to give Copeland the opportunity to score.
- Mike Kurylo

Copeland sits next to Sheed on the bench and there may be more information shared than, "ball don't lie." Sunday, his two assists to Novak were more than Amar'e collects in an entire week. Rounding out his game on Sunday, the Knicks’ rookie added a steal and a blocked shot.

Chris Copeland — who probably should be the fan favorite over 'Sheed — played extremely well in (Wallace's) absence, though he sat the whole second half for some reason. - Will Leitch

As the "Beaten Dead Horse" discussion regarding David Lee vs Amar'e is entertaining, it is rear view stuff. Chris Copeland shares some of Lee's versatility and could be a diamond in the rough.

As the injuries will inevitably pile up to our aging crew this 2 will get a lot of opportunities to show what they gut.

Looks like he finally overcame his jitters last game against the Suns. Looked more like Pre-Season Copeland.

Good Early Call

The Colorado graduate can not only score in isolation, but can act as a spot-up shooter too, which is something that could really add a new dimension to the Knicks' bench. Copeland may not be as good a shooter as say Steve Novak, but his athleticism, solid defense and ability to score in other ways make him a worthy alternative.

At 28, Copeland has had plenty of experience playing basketball in four different countries, and though the NBA is on a different level, he's showing us that he can handle things in the US as well. - Mark Baer, Los Angeles Times, October 21, 2012
