That is our team's record since the start of last season.

This is irrelevant and oversimplifies the reasons for the Knicks woes last season.

So the games before that don't count? I don't think Amare has played even 10 games under Woodson.

The Knicks are 29-10, reg. season, under Woodson. What was their record under the prior coach last year and the year before with Melo and Amar'e? I think this is what Knickscity is getting at.

Also, Melo and Amar'e have played together under Woodson and played well. They also won a playoff game versus the Heat with Amar'e and Melo.

So the coach making a couple mil is having a bigger impact than our $100 mil player is? We should have saved the money and just made some NBDL guy our PF then.

I believe the Knicks are 6-1 with Melo & STAT under Woodson. IMHO, I think Amare will fit in just fine. Can't wait to see him back on the floor.

There's the potential for him to help the team when he comes back. It's scary that Amare has been healthy enough to play in only 7 of the 39 games while Woodson's been here though.

This. The Knicks are 11-4 and you have the same few non-fans scrambling to find negatives. Amar'e will be fine.

No, they don't count. Why would I count games under a different coach? You think the Lakers hired D'antoni because of his wonderful record here?

What Was, Was.

What we know going forward, we don't know ****.

What we hope is a different story.

Homers and Sombers don't matter.

Watch the game, be there when it happens.

If not, read about it. But to argue it already? Phuch dat noise!

Nope- the whole team was playing badly before Woody took over, everyone can see we've played better since he became coach. We were playing great in those games with Woody as coach and Amar'e and Melo playing together- what's the point in going back to the D'Antoni days to say thats the best Amar'e and Melo can play together?

Amar'e worked his a** off over summer, now he's rehabbing to get back on the court- at least give him a fair chance and let him play some games before you declare we're better without him.

No. Having an effective coach versus having an extremely ineffective coach is making a difference.

Oh and by the way people used to argue the exact same thing about us being a better team without Ewing, back in the day.

It's really the biggest outstanding question of our season. Will Amare come back strong ... and if so, can we integrate him into the lineup to use his talent while not undermining what we've got going?

We're proving to be a very good team without him. If the answer to the above is "yes," we're a contender.

I'm hopeful. I don't think he's going to hurt us. Not sure how much he'll help, but I think he'll be a net positive.

Never mind then. I didn't realize this Amare thread was going to turn into yet another MDA vs. Woodson discussion. I don't think there's anything new to say on that topic.

Our record with Amare, under Woodson, with real PGs, on Tuesdays, in Spring months is 1-0. That projects to 82-0 over a full season. I retract my previous statements!

Maybe the 81 games I cited are meaningless and the pattern will reverse because Mike W is here. We're stuck with Amare. So we can only hope that is the case.

Everyday there is something new to say on that topic (thanks to Woody)
