“I just tried to help the team. Today was great because the ball started moving again. I think we had a couple of games where we didn’t have the extra pass. It was fun because everyone enjoyed the game.”

If Raymond Felton can have a thread dedicated to how bad he is after one game, it is only (cough) fair and balanced that Pablo Prigioni have a thread dedicated to his solid play after one decent game.

“When I see Pablo on the court, I know I’m going to get the ball when I’m open. He’s going to move the ball, and that’s the kind of guy that guys love to play with. He makes it easier on you.”

Pablo and Jason Kidd are the counterweights to the space consuming solo acts of Carmelo Anthony.

Prigs came up big when needed. That's what ballers do. The thread about Felton's bad game pissed me off. Every player has off days and the Knicks haven't had time to practice since the Spurs game so lets be patient. Got a long home stand coming up which will truly help the defense and offence.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

The anger about Felton's game was not because he performed badly. As you say, these nights happen. The problem was that he kept shooting the ball even though he wasn't connecting. You don't want your PG doing that.

I have to wonder if Woody told him to keep shooting, hoping the slump would break. I do agree, he was pissing me off too

It was a close game. Defense was giving it to Felton and he had to make it. He was cold but he just had to make one more in regulation and perhaps that would have been enough.

Felton is the team QB and you go with that. You don't stop because your % will look crappy in the box, you go with what the defense gives you. He failed to execute but go back to the tape, the PNR was not there, Melo was be defended well, and in a tight game where things slow down you don't want JR just being undisciplined creative. You go with what is given.

Failed to execute once or twice. Its gonna happen. some games some things won't work.

Exactly. I love felton but i didnt like that he kept shooting when he knew hi didnt have it that night and it cost us the net game. Hopefully Woody keeps playing Prigs

I dont think Prig is being given a real chance here. He doesn't seem fast and may not be able to keep up with todays more athletic PG on defense but the man seems to know how to run a team...I've seen posters get on him because he doesn't shoot but I dont see anything wrong with that...If the players continue to move without the ball and set screens for each other, I think he will be amazing for us.

I will dare to say that he would have been a great PG for MDA.

At some point, you have to start thinking that they are leaving you open for a reason. Also, I would disagree that he took what the defense gave him. He definitely forced a bunch of shots. In more than a couple of occasions, he missed the pass to Tyson on set plays.

I've been there and the best thing is to do the little things like rebound and make good passes. Try to get to the rim for a layup. Often a few foul sots will get you back into an offensive rhythm. Like Clyde has said on occasion: Sometimes you have to see the ball go through the hoop.

Prigioni would become an instant fan favorite in New York with consistent numbers. Nothing super flashy. 12 points and 7 assists would be awesome.

Make it 15 and 8 assists and he gets a GQ cover.

Hit The Open Man

“When I see Pablo on the court, I lick my chops,” Steve Novak said. “It’s like, ‘All right, I have Pablo on the floor with me. I know I’m going to get the ball when I’m open. He’s going to move it. He’s going to swing it.’

Better Looks Equal Better Shots

With Raymond Felton looking to assert himself more as a scorer, it's been Prigioni who has been the true floor general visionary on the court. He may not be able to run and gun towards the basket on his own, but the 35 year old knows exactly where his teammates are without having to take a second look.

- Keith Schlosser

“He does a great job of finding the open man. He does a great job of guarding his man. He steals when we need it. But most of all he’s starting to play with confidence.”

JR Smith

Priggi is just a baller. Tyson said he just wants to get dimes. The guy is a hawk and has hof eyes like Kidd. You can't begin to come close to the advantage of having guys that see the court like that. Believe It.

"The Knicks turned it over just seven times against Washington, improving their league-leading assist to turnover ratio of 1.70."

The Knicks average the fewest turnovers per game in the NBA (11.40) and fifth in takeaways (16.5).

By Sean Hojancki

With defense being Mike Woodson's central philosophy, if Prigioni sustains his current play, it will have him seriously challenging Felton for the starting job. Simply generating steals, limiting turnovers and utilizing his pass-first instincts could make him Woodson's favorite point guard.

And Prigioni has already proved able to quickly adapt to his new surroundings. Keith Schlosser, Editor-in-Chief of KnicksJournal.com, tweeted this on the Knicks' media day:

Pablo Prigioni just stole my cab. Seriously. #Knicks
