He's kind of always reminded me of a poor mans Tim Duncan who if he played a little harder and smarter could be Tim Duncan 2. Hes only 24--he was 22-11 and -5 on us last night and while he hit 9-20 it shouldve been 14-20 i mean he missed bunnies that a guy his size with his touch should make. Kudos to Chandler for playing well but Lopez can get his own offense while Chandler is a secondary guy who cleans up and scores point blank. Forget about people saying Bynum would be the best C in the east--maybe if healthy but Lopez easily could be the best C in the east and hard for any team to contain if he plays the right way and up to his enormous potential.

He's been the key to the Nets Offense this year. Makes it so much easier for the guards when you have a big who consistently scores inside. Wish I could say the same for the Knicks. He is also rebounding a little better and blocking a lot of shots. It's not a surprise he has been a good player for the Nets when healthy.

Knicks live and die by the 3. We will see how far it will take us versus Miami, Boston and Brooklyn in a 7 game series. Defense will only get you so far. Defending Lebron James for 7 games is not easy!

Knicks looking like the Yankees: 3ball = Home Runs LIVE & DIE

Knicks looking like Jets: "We are a defensive team" Jets get smoked when they play a good offense and can't keep up offensively.
Knicks offense becomes predictable with Melo Hero Ball as it becomes a game of 1 on 5.
When those 5 include Lebron, Wade & Bosh you are doomed

Brook Lopez is more in the Brad Daugherty/Rik Smits mold of center. More finesse than rugged brute strength like Dwight Howard or Shaq.

I give him props last night. He's still overall soft, but he can still kill you offensively.

Brad Daugherty is a perfect comparison imo. Brook Lopez killed Lakers with 15 - 20 ft jumpers. He's got a really nice touch. ONe thing I think about is how Orlando wouldnt make the trade with the Nets. It was stupid really, he was the best value in terms of a player that u could hope to get back in a trade, and they were offering other goodies as well. They basically didn't want to send Dwight where he wanted to go. But in screwing him, they screwed themselves. If they had Brook, they still have Jameer and big baby as really good compliments. Theyd be a decent team.

I wouldnt call Brook soft, I'd say he isnt physical. Hes a more cerebral guy. Duncan wasnt physical either and hes one of the best that Ive ever seen do it at his position.

It's strange that Amar'e gets blasted on these boards for his rebounding, but Lopez gets admired when he's even worse. Any respect I have for his offense is cancelled out by the fact he is 7 foot, is a centre and regularly seems to have 3 rebound games- I just don't get how that's possible. He's averaging 6.5 rebounds- that's an absolute disgrace.

I was watching him intently last night. While he does not board very well. He boxes out very well. His teammates seem to collect the rebounds while he seels off his own man.

Rookie year BroPez avg 13 pts, 8.1 rebounds.
Year 2 18.8 8.6.
year 3 20 pts ,6.0 rebs.

Amare career: 8.8
Daugherty: 9.5
Rik Smits: 6.1
Jermaine O'neil: 7.4

Jermaine career been hampered by injury but its a 15 year career.

Smits had one the "Davis Boys" flanking him. BroPez has Humphries who in his two years with Nets avged 10.4 rebs and 11. This season 8.6. Nets this season have Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace is a good rebounder at the wing. Nets are pretty good rebounding team:

Nets 12th
Knicks 25th
Miami 28th
Boston 30th

BroPez is not far off. BroPez is avg 19.4 and 6.5 Rebs so far this season. If Amare can get 19.4 per game avg pts im pretty confident we'd lay off the rebonding thing.

Someone is rebounding for the Nets. Thats what counts.

Hmm, I still thinks its a case of 'the grass is greener'- Tyson gets killed when he only gets 8 or 9 boards- people would never tolerate 6.5, whether he boxes out or not.

If he had longer stretches of Seriousness/Focus/Nasty he'd be a Top 20 player easily.

Knicks are 28th in rebounding. Nets are 12th. If he boxes well and other guys are good rebounders its a team thing.

I know he had a nice game yesterday but he's still way closer to Eddy Curry than to Tim Duncan. Lopez is a good scorer and not much else. Duncan was a very good scorer, dominant rebounder, dominant defensively, a very good to great passer for a big man, a 2-time MVP, and possibly the greatest power forward of all time.

Brad Daugherty is black last time I checked.

Just because Brad Daugherty loves NASCAR doesn't make him white!

What?! I don't remember ever seeing him play and always assumed he was white from based on his name. I'm in shock right now.

Brad is on ESPNHD doing NASCAR broadcasts and is an owner of a NASCAR racing team.

He picked "The KING" Richard Petty's number 43 as his number in honor of his child hood hero.

Brad was a great player until a bad back cut down his career.

Pretty impressed with Brook Lopez
