Melo #3
Brewer #14
Camby #2
Chandler #2
JR #18
Kidd #2
Felton #5
Sheed #4
Amare #9
Kurt #10

Knicks have 6 guys who were top 5 picks, 4 guys who are top 3 picks. I get some are past their prime but its also clear they all still can play, just not as many minutes.

Grunwald's assembly of pieces that fit and Woody's ability to get them on the same page this team is loaded. Its a bit slow right now but I expect Amare and Shump will help that as well as Sheed and Camby getting their legs going (Im their age, ever since I lost that foot race to Panos its been all downhill since)

The obvious knock on the roster is the age of the players. However, I think this is awesome. Not only were these guys innately talented physically, they all have a high basketball IQ.

Do I think Shumpert will hit his potential with this team? Yes. Do I think Novak will? Yes. Do I think a guy like JR Smith will hit his? Yes. How about Chris Copeland or James White? Yes.

Each younger guy that's added to this mix will have started their career around true professionals. I really love the culture that was built here

Just think: Iman Shumpert is going to learn to play defense from Tyson Chandler, Rasheed Wallace, Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, and Kurt Thomas. Did I forget anybody? (edit:) I forgot Brewer. And Felton.

yep my favorite knick the second he was drafted after listening to his first interview as a Knick. So much confidence and takes pride in playing D. Definitely a throwback

thats the silver lining to moving all your young talent and filling the holes with the expendables. I didnt agree with the approach, seen it backfire here too many times but its working and Im lovin the results. Kudos

It didn't work in the past because we were adding vets like Malik, Penny, Jeffries to play with guys like Marbury, Curry, Crawford and Francis and Nate. Now that you have a centerpiece in Melo and possibly Amare again and Tyson and Shump who play D, its a much more successful formula

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

eventually 'Marbury, Curry, Crawford and Francis and Nate' became the leaders of the team ... now, the Knicks remind me an awful lot of the Celtics, in that a guy like Rondo, who the C's almost traded (it was either Telfair or Rondo in the trade proposal for KG) gets enrolled in Basketball School administered by KG/Rasheed Wallace, taught by Hall of Fame talent and DPOYs... we'll see if they can win a chip--who knows--but I still think you could learn a lot about basketball by playing on this team. I think a guy like Crawford might have turned out a lot better if he got drafted onto a roster like this

im a mets jets rangers knicks fan so know misery the past decade lol. The Rangers are poised to win the cup again but the lockout has screwed that up. Hopefully my knicks can have one of those magical runs like they did in the 90's

So true, those accolades should only be a prelude but mean nothing without the big one.

ultimately, yes, however the Knicks have been so awful for so long that you can't completely dismiss any sort of award. The NY Rangers goalie won the award for best goalie this past season. ultimately, the Rangers lost in the ECF and the season was lost. However, it's been a while since that franchise has accomplished anything of note and it was at least something to legitimately cheer about
