THIS is why it does matter that the refs are not giving Melo fouls when he's clearly being abused. No other star player can get so much as a finger nail on their body and not get a foul call, but Melo? You have to damn near kill him to get a call. It's just not right. Novak is in a slump but he will get out of it. I do think sometimes Woody has to gauge when it's a Novak kind of game. He did good with adjusting to Prigs and knowing when he needs to be benched so Ihave full faith he will make the adjustments. In Woody we Trust.

there this thing called defense that he nor our other perimeter players could play tonight. Even Chandler struggled when he switched. The team as a whole played horrible D.

Thought he played out of control and wasn't focused on defense, but you can't read that in a box score. Have to actually watch the games.

When tkf said he wasn't that good he got roasted here.

When I questioned why we rushed to sign him to this type of deal considering we are paying Tax on his salary it was met with but Novak is DDC.

Novak told us during the summer he spent time working on his 2pt shot well thus far on the season 57fGA total with 47FGA(3pt). Whatever you say Novak

So now we're killing Novak? Dude is a role player and sometimes role players go thru slumps. We also haven't actually run any plays to help get him open either. We had some very nice pick plays to get him off and we rarely ever use them. That's a coaching thing.

As for this idea that Melo has a rep for bully ball, WTF does that have to do with refs making bad calls or no calls when it's right in front of them. As I said before the Knicks need to send tapes to the league in order to make a point about this. At the very least Woody has to do a better job protecting his star by working the refs more and maybe going to the press about it like Riley and PJax have done in the past. You have to draw attention to it.

It's not a slump...He has never been able to hit a shot with people on him...Miami showed that in the playoffs..It was the case last year and is the case this year...He just didn't get much of a window to shoot and when that happens we know the result..Slump is when he has done it before...
