Are we?

Woodson got the team going good, but Phil said we clumsy.

Why did he say that?

He said that in reference to Melo and Amare, who hasn't played a single minute yet.

So you agree that the roster is clumsy when Amar'e comes back? After a 7-1 when the rest of the team shows how not clumsy they play together?

Jax is the best coach of all time arguably and a great Knick. However, he is known to be a notorious cry baby when things don't go his way. The Knicks didn't call, so he complained. The Lakers took MDA over him, so he complained again. Knicks still should've called him, but I'm happy thus far. Woody seems to be tailor made for this team.

Woodson earned his chance.

If not I think Phil should have been considered. He said we clumsy and he would not come although he loves NY!

Maybe Woodson is "clumsy" and it works?

I was saying over the Summer that we'd be better off with Melo playing power forward and Amare coming off the bench. And, just for clarification, you're evidence as to why Melo, Amare, and Tyson aren't clumsy together is that we've looked really good with Amare out of the lineup?

No big surprise that Jax wouldn't coach a team that wasn't ready made for a title. When was the last time he did that? the 80s?.

I'm very interested in seeing how Stat is worked back into the lineup and what position he will play when Stat and Melo are on the floor at the same time. Haven't read anything from Woodson on that matter. If Woodson can make this work, the sky's the limit. Fortunately we have 3 PGs who are playing well to help with the transition.

He said we have a clumsy roster. If he thought Amar'e and Melo together was clumsy then he could've brought Amar'e off the bench. A good coach who has confiednce in their ability to coach and communicate would clearly see that as an option. Instead, he pouted and called the roster as a whole clumsy, when in fact, it is not. I think A lot of people will be surprised when Amar'e comes back. I think Woody will get he and Melo going good together.

I think he was just wrong about us, as were a lot of people. Maybe some sour grapes. But I don't think it's that.

Who could have expected a team that takes care of the ball and protects the basket so well and plays so smartly together? I'm glad you brought this up, Nalod. I was remembering the same thing. This team is the absolute opposite of clumsy. Efficient, intelligent, harmonious ... a real pleasure to watch.

Add Phil to the list of folks that were wrong.

If this is clumsy, then sign me up for two left feet.

Phil was right and wrong at the same time. Sure when we didn't have good PG's this team was clumsy, but the idea that he shouldn't take the job based on the roster as it was is a dumb mistake by him. Surely this team had the opportunity to improve the PG position as we eventually did. The other issue about STAT and Melo is totally overstated. When it comes to BB you can make a lot work with a capable PG and a real plan on how you use your roster. We've seen STAT and Melo have big games together, but very few with a capable PG running the show. A lot of this was due to injury and guys working their way back.

I don't think PJax was the best fit for the Knicks and I don't think he was the best fit for the Lakers. IF you think about his championship teams they were all very similar in makeup. This time the Lakers have a slightly different group that will fare better with an open uptempo style.

Amare-Carmelo has not proven it can work, so he is still right.

Phil was pissed he didn't get his way. His ego needed the boost from a call from Jimmy D. But Clumsy is a great way to describe the Knicks of the previous dozen years
